Healthy Homemade Snack: Tortilla Chips & Salsa

 

 

 

 

 

 

Salsa

What you need:

-          1 (14.5 oz.) can Mexican style diced tomatoes, undrained

-          1 (14.5 oz.) Can whole peeled tomatoes, undrained

-          1 tablespoon sliced jalapenos

-          ¼  cup onion, diced

-          ½ teaspoon garlic salt

-          ½ teaspoon cumin

-          ¼ teaspoon sugar

-          Fresh cilantro

-          An adult assistant to help you with this recipe

What you do:

With the help of your adult assistant, put all ingredients into a food processor and blend JUST until roughly chopped. Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.

 

Tortilla chips

What you need:

-          10 flour tortillas

-          1 ½ tablespoons olive oil

-          1 teaspoon salt

-          An adult assistant to help you with this recipe

What you do:

  1. Have your adult assistant preheat oven to 400°.
  2. Cut tortillas into wedges.
  3. Toss wedges in olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  4. On two baking sheets, lay tortilla wedges in a flat layer.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes and allow to cool before serving with your salsa.

    I made this yesterday and it’s really yummy and healthy to! Maybe i’ll make this again.

    That looks really good.The only thing I would change is fresh tomatoes not canned. Canned things are really bad.
