Ivy’s Apology

Hey everyone, Sparky here. Guess what?

We found my prankster.

I’m sure Benny must have mentioned it by now (he was pretty proud of himself). Instead of being happy (that the pranks will stop), I actually feel awful; the prankster was someone I thought of as a friend.

It was Ivy.

She and I became pals last year when we canoed together. Apparently, she was hoping we could do that again this year – but I’ve been really busy! And I’ve been hanging out with my cabin-mates a lot…especially this new guy, Arnold. Unfortunately, Arnold is Ivy’s cousin. I had no idea, of course, (he never mentioned it), but Ivy thought I was ignoring her and spending too much time with him.

So she decided to try and get my attention. She said she left all sorts of clues to make it easy for me to figure out it was her…like putting a feather on the floor of our cabin (I pointed out that Arnold also has feathers, but she said hers are longer and we should’ve noticed). When I didn’t get the hint, she pulled the ‘poison ivy’ trick. When I still didn’t get it, she just got madder and madder.

I asked why she didn’t just ASK me to hang out with her. She said she did a bunch of  times, but I was always too busy with someone else.

So that’s why I feel bad. Neither of us has been a very good friend – but she took it too far.

Fluffington was REALLY mad. He made her apologize (which she did – about a million times) and then he told her that she’d have to go home. She started to cry and begged Fluffington to let her stay. He decided that maybe she could – but that she’d have to do nothing but chores for a whole, entire week. He also said she couldn’t see the play or participate in the Games. She agreed to the punishments, as long as she could stay.

As we left Fluffington’s office, she apologized again. She said that she understood if I didn’t want to talk to her ever again.

I think I’ll let her do her week of chores. Then maybe we’ll talk. And maybe we’ll even go for a canoe ride.

Wow what she did was bad but almost what you did was was worse. I think a day of chores for each of you would be better, because you did not act friendly towards her and she did not take it nicely.

I guess the poison “ivy” made sense, and the feather, but what was with the black pepper in his milk at the beginning of camp?

Gee, I think Fluffington was a bit too hard on Ivy. She was just feeling left out, and the million apologies should have been good enough. A week of chores? That’s too much in my opinion.

I would just like to say that Ivy was being mean. How is pepper in his milk obviously her? I wish we got that explanation.
Also, she should be punished b/c all the things she did were rally hurtful. Pepper in his milk and the poison ivy were just cruel, and made Sparky hurt. He shouldn’t be friends w/ her anymore.

Poor Ivy and Sparky!:( They both haven’t been good friends!:( At least Sparky may give her another chance and ride the canoe ride with her!:)

If this should happen again sometime, maybe Iv should try and talk things out before taking things too far. I’m sure they must have camp peer’s to talk to about things like this. I hope you can all be friends again soon. A friend is a sad thing to lose. Good luck.

I think that’s sweet, but I’m surprised she did it.

Whenever a leaf falls off the tree, another grows in it’s place.

That’s what I always think when i see people that are mad at each other. It basically means that everything will come back; will be given another chance.
