Makeover Craft: T-Shirt Pillow

When you outgrow your favorite t-shirt, don’t throw it away.  Turn it into a comfy keepsake.

You will need:

-          T-shirt

-          10 x 10 pillow form

-          Sewing machine OR needle & thread

-          Scissors

1.    Turn your shirt inside out.

2.    Sew a straight line across the top from the top of one shoulder to the top of the other.

3.    Sew a line from the top of one shoulder straight down to the side seam under the arm. Do the same on the other side.

4.     Cut off excess fabric from the sleeves.

5.    Now turn the pillow inside out so that the pattern is on the outside. Using the end of a pencil or a knitting needle, push the inside corners out.

6.    Insert your pillow form in the bottom of the T-shirt and tuck the bottom edges in. Neatly sew the final side.

You may have been comfortable in your favorite T-shirt before – now you’ll be comfortable ON it!

With 6 kids oldest 25 youngest 7; I have tons of t’s from various fun runs, plays and other events. this is one of mry fav. things to with them–but can also make a blanke/quiltt with all front on one side and backs on other. you can also make simple bags–like the re-useable grocery bags. in fact–1st one made just sewed t-sshirt material right on bag. they always have some sort of logo on them –so you can use ANY LEFT OVER FABRIC and cover the bag completely–Now set of desiner grocery bags. But using old sweatshirt for the pillows or blanket makes em softer, esp. if REALLY WORN IN. have fun recycling today. make some for all your friends makes a great gifts.. ask friends’s parent for an old fav. T-shirt/ sweatshirt and make them a cool, one of a kind gift
