Meriwether St. Bernard is Unimpressed

Why, I NEVER! I have no idea what put my nephew, Fluffington, in such a foul mood today, but I must say, I certainly was not going to remain there to be spoken to like that!

I stopped by Fluffington’s for a quick visit to see how his plans for his big party were coming along. I was worried he had taken on a bit much. After all, he doesn’t have the same flair for entertaining that I have always had. Why, my parties have always been the talk of Kinzville. But then what does one expect from someone with my class and good taste? A focal point of MY parties has always been a display of my extensive tea cup collection. I just know that the citizens of Kinzville love the opportunity to admire my collection as much as I love showing them off.

But I digress. When I arrived at Fluffington’s home, he seemed to be stumbling around the front yard, mumbling to himself. Personally, I found the decorations quite striking, but when I complimented him on them – why, he flew off the handle! He said that it wasn’t what he wanted at all and that Helwin and Ailey – or something like that – had got it all wrong.

It was clear that the pressure of having to live up to my incomparable soirees was taking its toll on Fluffington and I told him as much. I suggested that perhaps he might like to leave the entertaining to me (I mean, I am clearly so much better suited to it) and that I would be more than happy to host the Christmas party.

Well! There was I, trying to be generous and giving (as I always am, dear readers) and what sort of reaction do I get? All I can say is that Fluffington would be lucky to throw a party one-tenth as fabulous as one of my get-togethers, and if he can’t see that I was only trying to help – well then, he is on his own!

WOW! maybe fluffington just wants to host a party and make you proud, or something. And you have to stop talking like your parties are the best and fluffington woulbnt be able to beat or become equal with yours.

Wow, Fluffington seemed a little off edge! Or should I ay, TOO much off edge. I feel sorry for her. It’s ok Meriwether. He’ll calm down sooner or later.

Fluffington should have said something about what he wanted. Well, I think the 25 white shaggy rugs were a little much. I’m a person who HATES clutter, and those rugs would have driven me crazy if it were my room! It’s just extra STUFF. I could do without STUFF, if you know what I mean. All those extra goodies and decorations just make me go completely berserk!
