Pink Coconut Cake

 

 

 

 

 

 

What You Need:

White cake mix, sweetened shredded coconut, vanilla icing, red or pink food coloring, plastic bag, plate, adult assistant

 

What you do:

1.       With your adult assistant, prepare the cake mix according to the directions on the box (or, conversely, make a white cake from scratch). Before you pour the batter into the pan, add a couple of drops of food coloring and mix well – your batter will be pink!

2.       Bake your cake. When it’s ready, have your adult assistant remove it from the oven and let it cool.

3.       When the cake is cool, turn it out onto a plate.

4.       Mix a few drops of food coloring into the vanilla frosting. Frost the cake with it.

5.       Put your shredded coconut into a plastic bag and add a couple of drops of food coloring. Close the bag and shake it well to distribute the color. Spread the coconut onto a plate and let it dry.

6.       When the coconut is dry, pat it onto the sides of the cake and onto the top.

7.       Enjoy sharing your sweet (and pink) cake!
