Oh my gosh! We’re all ready for Polly’s party this afternoon, but there was almost a disaster that gave the whole thing away today and it was all my fault!
Remember how we couldn’t decide what cake to make for Polly’s party? Well, in the end you all helped us to decide that Roberta’s and Cowabelle’s panda cake would be perfect. But a lot of you really seemed to like the cupcakes too so we thought why not do both? It just seemed to fit, don’t you think?
So Nibbles and I were up late last night working on the cupcakes, and I was supposed to bring them over to Roberta’s this afternoon
So I put the cupcakes in a box and walked out my door and guess who was standing right there? Yep. It was Polly popping in to see if I was home. The first thing she says is “What’s in the box?” I just stammered (have I ever mentioned that I’m not so good at thinking on my feet?) and then she reached over and opened the box! There were all of our panda paw print cupcakes, right under Polly’s nose!
Lucky for me, just then Nibbles came by to see if I needed some help carrying the cupcakes. She heard Polly say, “Oh, those are so cute! What are they for?” Nibbles IS good at thinking on her feet because right away she told Polly that since Roberta’s mom is expecting a baby someone is bound to throw her a baby shower and that she and I had been experimenting with cupcakes we could make. She said were supposed to be rabbit paw print cupcakes. I was so relieved I could have dropped the box and hugged Nibbles!
Polly said they were cute but she thought we needed to work on them a bit since they weren’t really the right shape for rabbit prints. She said they looked more like bear prints and held up her paw and said, “See?”
Nibbles and I just looked at each other and said Polly was right – we’d go back to the drawing board. Then Nibbles told Polly that we’d love to chat but we were going to deliver our test batch of cupcakes to Ms. Birdy to hand out at the adoption center. Polly said she’d see us later and she seemed kind of disappointed as she left. It IS her birthday after all and neither Nibbles nor I had said a word about it.
Seriously – what would I do without Nibbles?

Polly may not have thought it at all odd that they didn’t say anything about her birthday. If you remember she avoided telling Molly about it when Molly kept asking when it was. In the end, they only found out because Polly’s Mom told them.
I would have said happy birthday and given her a cupcake for a taste-test.
I agree with you. I think that is exactly what they shoulda have done. Just because Polly didn’t want a party doesn’t mean she didn’t want people to say Happy Birthday to her now that they know when her birthday is and spend time with her on it. Poor Polly. I don’t think this party is going to be a good thing. **Robyn
istead of trying to hide the surprise from polly, you should of told polly the truth and had a normal party.oh and you would be unluky without nibbles.
My two best friends can make up stuff like that quickly as well and I’m usually standing there stammering my head off havering absolutely no idea what to say.
I’m not very good at doing that either. Even if I’m innocent I can’t help but act suspicious. I’m just glad that u had Nibbles come along 2 help u! I would’ve that we were testing out treats 4 Plumpy’s wedding. ~Lemon*Starburst~

At least Nibbles saved the day. But you guys should’ve said Happy Birthday to Polly.
Well, well, looks like Nibbles saved the day. At least Nibbles was a quick thinker and she was there. Without her- everything would be a complete disaster! But- maybe it already is, from all that Polly said that she didn’t want a party in the first. Good thing Polly thought they were cute! She’ll love them for sure!
