Dear Diary,
I have never (NEVER) been angrier at Ms. Stripes than I am right now. She told us who was cast in which role for the Thanksgiving pageant. And guess what I am? The lead? Noooo! The supporting actress? Noooo! I don’t even have any LINES. Why is that? Because I’m a tree! A tree! Cowabelle, on the other hand, is the lead. She gets to dress up like a pilgrim and sing and dance and do all sorts of other things. Meanwhile, I get to get splinters from my costume. I cannot believe Ms. Stripes! She is so unfair. And you know what she said, when I went up to her after class and asked her why I was a tree? “Roberta, it’s important that you learn to share the spotlight. You can’t ALWAYS be the lead, you know.” And I said “But Cowabelle has been the lead a lot as well. Why does SHE get to do it again now?” And Mrs. Stripes just said something about Cowabelle suiting the part, and for the Christmas pageant maybe I could have a more prominent role.
Know what? I’m not even going to be IN the Thanksgiving pageant. This tree is on strike.

It’s OK Roberta. I’m sure something will work out. >>cathouse2
Play the part. and be the BEST tree ever especially if you have something to do with making the costume.
Am I the only one that noticed Cowabelle has had more roles in anything?
*sigh* Roberta, stop being so selfish. You can’t be the lead EVERY time. And maybe the lead in the Christmas pageant will be way better than this pageant’s lead role. Besides, Cowabelle is CUTE! Very pretty. Who, be the way, is her father? Her looks don’t excatly take after her mom… no offense, Ms. Coweline. Anyway, the world doesn’t revolve around YOU. I reveloves around COWABELLE, because she is BEAUTIFUL!
i would like to be a tree because u dont have to memirize all your lines
I can understand not wanting to get splinters. Maybe you could ask if it was OK to have your costume made out of brown paper instead of wood.
Oh wow!!!!
Maybe Ms. Stripes is showing favoritism to Cowabelle because her mother is the school superintendent, but we don’t know that. Roberta, what I am pretty sure of is that if you and your tree go on strike, you can most definitely NOT count on a bigger role in the Christmas pageant. Be the best tree ever, help where you can, and show Cowabelle and everyone else that you can be a tree and a good sport at the same time.
You know what….I always want to be the lead role, and if I were Roberta, I would feel the same way. I would actually be much more mad than her, because the leads would be the daughter or son of someone who is running the play or is helping the director. That’s what usually happens at my school. At least someone understands you, Roberta.
you should not feel that bad
