My best friend, Cowabelle’s, mother is a teacher and one of my favorite things to do with my friends when I was younger was set up a classroom in our family room and play school. My mom let me push the furniture out of the way so we always had lots of space, and I have an old black board that Mrs. Cowoline gave me one year when she was ordering new ones for the school. It’s really neat – I usually keep it in my room, but for ‘School’ we would wheel it into the living room.  I also have an easel where my ‘students’ could work on their art assignments. For desks, Cowabelle and I would carry down my school desk from my bedroom and my parents have an old fashioned school desk in the basement that my mom would bring upstairs for us. But you don’t have to have proper desks – any small table and chair will do. We use a couple of my mom and dad’s end tables as desks with dining room chairs. For my teacher’s desk, I used our dining room table with one of our dining chairs. I have lots of art supplies that we used to do projects and write tests and I set up an area in the corner with games and toys for recess.

The other day we were baby-sitting Millie, Molly’s little sister, and we decided to play school with her. I was the teacher and Cowabelle, Molly, Millie and Nibbles were the students. When it was time to get started, I blew my whistle and called them in. Cowabelle is always a perfect student of course, but I have to say Molly, Millie and Nibbles were NOT on their best behavior. The three of them kept giggling and chatting while I was trying to teach them their math lessons! I gave them a warning, and when they still wouldn’t settle down, I had to separate them. At the end of that school day I was exhausted! I have to say – sometimes it’s not easy dealing with unruly kids!

Ooh! I used to play this all the time when I was little! My stuffed animals were always my students, though. When my school bought new books, they gave out the old books to everyone. I think I was the only one who kept mine, and I taught my plushies with those for years.

I wish to form a club for Mazin’ Hamster owners. Reply with your username, hamster name, and Webkinz hamster name if you want to join (ex. bunnycomber, Num-Nums, Carrots). Tell your friends, because if I don’t get 5 people to join by Wednesday the 14th, the club will be cancelled (if you have a signature endangered pet, see my offer on the pelican trophy page)
