Roberta Reports: School Houses

Roberta Rabbit here with some really cool news about Kinzville Academy. Mrs. Cowoline just called us all into the auditorium to make an announcement. We were all curious about what it could be.

When we got there, Mrs. Cowoline explained that we were going to be doing something new this year and that everyone in Kinzville Academy would be put into a school ‘House’.  There are three Houses, the Quizzlings, the Quackers, and the Curios. We can all win points for our Houses by joining teams and clubs, volunteering in the school and helping out in class, and we lose points for bad behavior.

After that, Mrs. Cowoline assigned us to our Houses. I was so glad that I got to be in the same House as my best friend, Cowabelle! But some of the kids were disappointed because they were in different Houses than their best friends. Purr-cilla was mad because even though her friend, Janice, was in her House, their other best friend, Penelope, wasn’t. Purr-cilla even complained to Mrs. Cowoline about it. Mrs. Cowoline explained that she was trying to mix it up to get an even spread of points for the Houses and just because your friend wasn’t in your House it didn’t mean you couldn’t still hang out. Honestly, Purr-cilla – get a grip! Nobody else went whining to the teacher about it!

Cowabelle and I are both Quackers – really! Isn’t that funny? My friends, Molly, Nibbles and Stoogles, are in the same House as me, and Laurabeard, Salley and Alex are Quizzlings. Sparky and Booger are both Curios – the same as Purr-cilla and Janice (I’m so glad Purr-cilla’s not in my House!), and Purr-cilla’s friend, Penelope, is in Quizzlings.

Cowabelle and I are going to work really hard and join every club we can because at the end of the school year, the winning House gets to go on a special field trip!

This year is going to be epic!!!

    We had teams. I was on team Epic. We lost all of the competitions against the other teams (quench, vista and impulse) so we called ourselves Epic Fails.

    Sounds like what I said before this year (first year in middle school) and so far, my homeroom teacher is my least favorite teacher, I’ve been late for class, like 3 or 4 times, even BEFORE we got our lockers, and a lot of the kids know me, so my idea of loosing my nerd statues kind of got thrown away.
    Again “kind of”
    Who knows? I’ve made a bunch of friends, so, could it hurt.
    I don’t think so.

    Oh, we have something similar at my school called colour houses. They’re very simple-you’re either white or blue house. (our school colours.) I always end up in blue-they call blue house blue thunder and white house white lightning. it’s really interesting, but I don’t know if we’ll do it this year because our old principle retired. Maybe if some students asked if he could…
