Dear Mom & Dad,

Guess what’s happening at camp in three days? The St. Bernard Games. You know, like the Olympics? But at camp.

Sports.

Competitive sports.

And me. Me, Webkinz World’s clumsiest and least-athletic rabbit. You know what’s going to happen, right? I’ve considered the most likely outcomes:

1.       I break my leg.

2.       I make someone else trip and break their leg.

3.       I break the equipment, ruining the games for everyone.

Anyway you look at it; things aren’t going to turn out well. Molly and Cowabelle have tried to get me to practice, but I just can’t do it. I just HATE sports. Everyone else seems to think this is going to be tons of fun.

I don’t.

I wish camp was just all about crafts and drama. Sports wreck everything.

Other than that, things are going well.

But these games are really making me nervous.

Send me good luck, mom and dad!

Love,

Roberta

Well Robeta, All i have to say is this: Not everyone likes sports, but if you try new things you will learn they are lots of fun! Probably most of your friends didn’t like sports, but once they tried it, they loved it!

I can understand how Roberta feels. I don’t like most sports. I do like biking hiking swimming bowling being the goalie in soccer recess at school scootering and want to try skatboarding. I had a few bad experienses with running, one on field day when i got mud all over the back of my upper legs and alot of people were laughing.

You are right about the activities but it is too late for that now in these games. She should try to do these things slowly and regularly later on. For these games, she could be a cheer leader. No outfit needed and no forms, she should just cheer all the athletes on. Maybe with an extra cheer for the kinz who are coming in last!
    Thank you.

Hi, FoggyBottom. Don’t give up on Roberta just yet! 3 days is plenty of time to practice–just an hour a day will help a lot! She just needs a good coach and her friends to help with her confidence and show her some techniques and break it down for her and help make it fun! Forms are usually done before camp, so I bet she is all set to go. Good luck, Roberta. You can do it!

The more you do sports, the more it strengthens you and helps with balance and flexibility. We lift weights, bike ride, yoga, play ball, swim and boxing, fencing, karate and target shooting. Roberta should at least try it. Do anything! Start out slow then work up to more intensity. You can always modify your activity based on your skill level, but don’t quit, you will get flabby and weak!!!!

I’m like her too except swimming and karate. (Have my third degree brown in that) but anyting involving balls, pucks, ropes or any sort of equipment spells disaster for me too and am afraid of making a big fool of myself. She should be able to sit them out if she wants, right? :D

    That sounds just like me!
