Roberta’s baby names

So my mom and dad are really excited about the new baby I heard them talking about what they would name a baby girl. So I thought I’d help them out by suggesting some names. I mean, they have enough to worry about, right? I thought this could be my thing.

I decided to start with girl names and I came up with some awesome ones! I found this book at the library with a huge list of names and their meanings.

Here is what I narrowed it down to:

Ranulfa apparently means wolf. I know it may not be your typical rabbit name, but hey – I bet my baby sister is going to be powerful and brave.

Rashida means righteous. How perfect is that for my little sis?

Rubella. Okay, this wasn’t actually in the book. I just like it. My mom says that’s a word for measles, not a name, but I think it’s got something, don’t you?

Raghnild means one who is fierce in battle. (Okay, I might have a new fav here).

Rathnait means wealthy or charming and who wouldn’t want that?

Rhodanthe means Rose. How pretty is that?

Rochette means ‘from the little rock.’ Um, we can make that work, right? I like it – Roberta and Rochette.

So I showed my list to my mom and dad and can you say ‘closed-minded’? They said that some of the names were ‘interesting’ which is parent-speak for ‘I don’t think so’. And they said absolutely positively no way to Rubella. But just think how unique that would be! Anyway, they said that they had really been considering some more traditional names but that they would take my list in consideration.

Hmph. I still like Raghnild. That is an awesome name!

I mean if it was a boy you could name him Robert Rabbit. And if it’s a girl it could be Rayleen Rabbit. Oh whell those are some sudgestions. Anyway Good Luck!

  9. Country Gal Val says:

Those ARE some interesting names. I don’t think Rubella would be a good pick though. Think of how often she would be made fun of. I like the names Rashina-God is gracious; Renita-rebel; and Rhoswen-white rose.

          • Northwestern...agrees with you all says:

Rachael is good, but instead of Rubella, Roberta should consider Rubylin

          • lightpapa says:

SHE WANTS TO NAME HER SISTER RUBELLA! Roberta, your mom SAID it meant MEASLES!

          • blahblahthecatluver says:

            i like Rubella

          • R3dRulez says:

To be honest, I don’t really like any of those names. They are unique, but I prefer normal names over different ones

          • krystalkat says:

I still like Rebecca! Or Roxanne, my nickname! Your names are a bit too, unique…..;) ~KK♥

          • Northwestern...I still don't get it says:

Why does it have to start with R? It’s okay if it does, but names like Charlotte, Ann~Catherine, Sonja, and Nancy are really pretty. Now if it’s a boy, they could name it Rocky, Robert, Rick, but all those names if they went beyond the letter R

    • _starburst_ says:

okaaaaay, odd. I think you should name a girl Rebecca or Riley. I’m thinking that Ganz might make the baby a boy and name him Robert. Get it, Robert and Roberta?

    • crazyforcats says:

I like Rhodanthe the best. Maybe if your parents know commenters like your names they might consider them! ~:: cfc~~crazyforcats~~ :: $ P. S. I like the name Rubella but if it means measles, eh, I’m not so sure.
