Wow! I don’t know who gave Ms. Stripes the brain transplant, but whoever it was, I owe them BIG TIME! Ms. Stripes has actually been really nice the past couple of days. When something happens in class she doesn’t immediately freak out and try to track down the culprit so she can punish them. Now she just says “Okay, settle down.” And we do! ‘Cause sometimes kids just get a bit silly and we just need to be reminded how to act, not sentenced to hard time.
A lot of students were having a hard time understanding our fractions assignment the other day and Ms. Stripes did the craziest thing ever – the next day, she brought in a pan of brownies she had baked, and we divided it up into half and then quarters and then eighths’ and then we used the brownies to try adding quarters and eighths! And then we got to eat them! Okay, first of all – that was AWESOME, and second, we totally understood the whole fraction thing by the end of the lesson!
I don’t know if this is going to keep up or if her body has just been taken over by aliens temporarily but I am going to enjoy it while it lasts.
Wow. Mrs Stripes sure has change a lot. You guys better not take advantage of her kindness.

Wow, Mrs.Stripes is much, much better. One time I did that in my class for fractions (the brownie thing). Hayley, we owe you one (and Hayley isn`t an alien Sparky!). I think I would want Mrs.Stripes now for a teacher.
