There’s a place in Webkinz World that’s always covered in ice and snow – it’s Northern Webkinz World, and its most famous resident is, undoubtedly, Blake E. Bear. Today, I had the pleasure of talking to the amazing artist on the phone.

AT: Thanks so much for agreeing to talk to me about Northern Webkinz World, Mr. Bear.

BEB: No problem, Alex. Glad to help!

AT: Everyone knows you’re famous for your gigantic ice sculptures. Why ice?

BEB: Well, in Northern Webkinz World it’s the easiest material to find. It’s free and it’s everywhere. Also, it’s pretty. Have you ever seen ice sparkle in the sunlight on a frozen winter’s morning? Nothing like it!

AT: What’s the best part of living in Northern Webkinz World?

BEB: The cold. Being a polar bear, I’m naturally inclined to like cool temperatures. Everyone in my family is like that…except for my cousin Reginald. He moved south as soon as he could.

AT: What kinds of things do Webkinz do in the north?

BEB: Oh, the usual winter activities: sledding, skiing, skating, snowball fights, snow fort building contests, and the annual SPEC.

AT: What’s that last one?

BEB: Snow Pie Eating Contest.

AT: How do you make snow pie?

BEB: You take some snow, then you take some more snow, then you add a bit more snow, a dash of maple syrup, more snow, a tiny bit of vanilla and blend it all up. Pour it into a pie pan and top with a little more maple syrup. Voila! Snow pie.

AT: Sounds…interesting.

BEB: Oh, it’s our favorite dish up here. So delicious!

AT: You’ve been to Kinzville before. What did you think of it?

BEB: Your town is lovely, don’t get me wrong, but my goodness – I thought I was going boil! It was SO hot!

AT: Really?

BEB: Oh, yes! I remember staying at Fluffington’s mansion and just sculpting in the freezer. THAT was lovely.

AT: If one was to visit Northern Webkinz World, when would be the best time to go?

BEB: Anytime! Oh, it’s always great to get out of that awful heat and into the cold.

AT: Er, yeah. Well, thank you for your help today, Mr. Bear!

BEB: My pleasure, Alex!
