Using an Agenda

Hi there! It’s me, Cowabelle! This summer my mom told me about this really neat new thing that we were going to have at Kinzville Academy this year. They’re called Agendas. My mom (you know – Mrs. Cowoline, the school superintendent?) ordered an agenda for every student at the school. They are these cool planners that let you keep track of things like what homework you have, and tests and projects that are coming up. They have a space for every day of the week where you can write important things you need to remember.

Every day we’re responsible for copying down assignments from the blackboard into our agendas. We can also include other important things like team practices and games, and upcoming field trips. Then when we get home, we show the agendas to our parents so they know what is happening at school and what is due and when. We get our parents to sign the agenda every day to show that they’ve read it. Teachers and parents can write notes to each other and there’s even a pocket in the front for permission slips and order forms and stuff.

I think the agendas are a pretty neat idea because sometimes it’s hard to keep track of all the work we have. I’m pretty good at keeping on top of stuff, but you know who could really use this agenda? Roberta. Don’t tell her I said this, but these days Roberta isn’t so good at getting her homework done. She always leaves stuff ‘til the last minute and then her work is all rushed and sloppy. If Roberta writes everything down in her agenda, maybe she’ll get her work done on time from now on, especially if her mom and dad are checking it every day.

I love my agenda – I’ve even been using it to keep notes about interesting things that happen in school, like when Salley got sent to my mom’s office for passing notes in class, or when Nibbles fell in the mud on Picture Day.

Have you ever used an agenda? You should give it a try.

Same at mine we only use them for homework and stuff At my school they call them planners. But the Games they have in them are all really lame…

The planners that they give us at the high school I go to don’t have enough room for all of my homework, so this year I bought my own. I still have to carry around the school-issued one because it has hall-passes in the back… It is so helpful! I’m one of the only students in some of my classes that know when up-coming tests/projects/homework is due! :)

Yes, we uses planners/agendas too. They don’t have pockets though. If we break or lose one, we have to buy one for $5.00. And we have to have one- it is requested. Great job Webkinz! Lots of schools have agendas. On each week, there is a space for us to write our spelling words, there is a “fact of the week” and an activity. I love them. However, Cowabelle, I don’t think you should write down bad things that happen to students. If someone sees your agenda they might start a rumor. Maybe the whole school doesn’t know about when Nibbles fell in the mud and he will be embarrassed when more people find out. Same with Salley. Thanks Webkinz! -Rachel
