A Sweet Collection!
Collecting marshmallows is all the rage this summer in Kinzville (you can start collecting on July 4!)! Aside from a grand prize when you collect all 30, you’ll also get smaller prizes along the way. After you get five Marshmallows, you’ll get a Marshmallow Pit. At ten Marshmallows, you’ll get a camping out fit. And at twenty Marshmallows, you’ll get Marshmallow Seeds! Time to start your collection!
Hailey misses Elwin
Hi there. It’s Hailey here. Things have been pretty crazy for my brother and me lately. I don’t know if you’re a fan of the popular show, Kinzville Sings, but you may have heard that my brother, Elwin, was the winner – which is totally awesome by the way. I mean, nobody is happier to see Elwin fulfilling his dreams than me. I guess it just kind of caught me off-guard because, to be honest, I never really realized that WAS his dream. I mean, as long as I can remember, the two of us both always dreamed of running our own design studio. And things were going along so well when, on a lark (and with a little push from yours truly), Elwin was caught up in this whirlwind of singing and performing. And then suddenly, before either of us realized what was happening, he had won! Next thing I knew he was whisked away to start preparing for his big tour. So that leaves me on my own in this big, empty studio. I don’t even feel like designing. It’s almost like the fun has gone out of it, you know? I’m sure it’s just an adjustment period … Read more

Booger writes home
Dear Sparky, Science Camp is awesome! Well, I know I just got here yesterday, and to be honest we haven’t actually done any real science yet, but I’m still having lots of fun! I’m so glad that Alex came with me because it’s really nice having someone you know to share a bunk with. When we got here we unpacked in our cabin and then they broke us up into groups and took us on a tour of the camp. You should see the labs! They have every piece of scientific equipment you could imagine! There’s also a really nice beach because unfortunately we don’t get to do science ALL the time. They expect us to go outside and swim and hike and stuff too. Alex thinks that is cool, but between you and me I’m not so crazy about wasting all that valuable research time away from the lab! After our tour it was almost time for dinner and so we had a weenie roast around the campfire. As we roasted our weenies one of the counselors explained how the structural composition of the meat changes when it is exposed to fire. … Read more
Roberta’s Craft: Fake Campfire!
Hey everyone! Roberta here with a super simple and wonderfully FUN craft! Today I’m going to show you how to make a fake campfire!  What you need:Three paper towel tubes, brown craft paint, paintbrush, black craft paint, brown construction paper, yellow construction paper, red construction paper, orange construction paper, craft glue, scissors  What you do: Cut out a brown construction paper circle for each end of each paper towel role. Glue them in place. When the glue is dry, paint each paper towel tube brown. These are your logs! When the brown paint is dry, paint on black lines to make the logs look like they have bark on them. When the black paint is dry, glue all three logs together in a campfire arrangement. Cut out orange, red and yellow flames from the construction paper. Glue the flames together and then glue them in place on your logs. For extra fun, I got a pencil and painted it brown to look like a stick. I then got a Styrofoam marshmallow and stuck it on the end! Now I can pretend I’m camping anytime I want!
Earth Day Contest Winners
Congratulations to Pam, Jessica, Lauren, Abbie and Jane! They’ve each been awarded a retired Earth Table. We wanted to hear how you were going to celebrate Earth Day. Check out the winning entries below: I am going to clean up along the creek near my house. There is not much trash but a lot of fallen branches and debris are clogging the water up. When silt piles up against the debris then the stream can overflow and flood the road. That means that the stream picks up dirt that washes into the river. – Pam This Earth Day I am going to plant lots of trees so then some animals can have new homes. I also am going to recycle old bottles and help save Earth. I am going to tell all of my friends, neighbors, and even random people to do the same thing. Next I am going to not use the electronics in my house to save electricity. That is what I am going to do this Earth Day. – Jessica Every year my little sister and I find that even on Earth Day our neighborhood is filled with garbage. When Earth Day comes we go around our … Read more
It’s Camp month!
Hi there! It’s me, Roberta. I am really pumped because my parents signed me up for Craft Camp this summer! It should be a lot of fun. We are starting with pottery this week which will be awesome – I mean, what’s the point of doing crafts if you’re not going to get MESSY, right? It’s going to be great because it’s only a morning camp, which means that I will still have my afternoons free to hang out with my friends and with the new baby when it comes along! When my dad and I were signing up for camp we ran into Molly and Millie. It turns out that Millie will be going to day camp this summer and I could tell by the look on Molly’s face that she was kind of relieved about that. Poor Molly. She keeps telling me that she loves Millie and they do have fun sometimes, but that I should really try to set boundaries when the baby starts to get older because otherwise it’s just going to be getting in my stuff all the time. I will try to remember that! Last summer Booger went … Read more
