The Sniffles

Oh my gosh! The most awful thing has happened! I went into my little brother Reid’s room this morning to bring him downstairs for breakfast and he has a runny nose! Isn’t that terrible? I rushed right down to get my mom and she told me to calm down, and that everyone gets the sniffles once in a while. How can she be so carefree? Reid is just little! This could be serious!

After breakfast I put him right back to bed and made sure he stayed there. He was getting really fussy and whiny so he must have been really sick. My mom says it was because he was bored being stuck in his bed and that I should play with him, but I’m sure it was because he was sick. A sick baby needs rest, not play!

I called my grandma and told her she has to make a big batch of chicken soup. My mom says Reid doesn’t like chicken soup, but I have to convince him to take it! I just want him to get better!

LOL Roberta , cool it girl . All babies have runny noses . It comes form the fact that they can not blow their noses . take it from someone who has four little brothers

and anyway, shouldnt grandma rabbit make a huge batch of carrot soup??

Reid might be able to drink the broth, but he wouldn’t be able to eat the noodles or the chicken or anything in it that’s solid, so soup wouldn’t really help him. But you can make sure he drinks enough liquid. You’ll also need to suction his nose. It’s gross, but necessary because babies can’t blow their noses. Your mom probably already has whatever device is needed to do this. And you don’t need to force him to rest. Go ahead and play with him, and if you’re concerned about tiring him out, keep your play to quiet games that don’t get him too excited.

It’s just the sniffles, it isn’t that much of a big deal. But its good that you’re such a caring big sister ;)

You should calm down, a lot! I get the sniffles all the time and it’s not bad, winter is the season to get sick. You are over reacting way to much! Your brother dosen’t need a big pot of soup to make him feel better, most likely all he needs is a cup of tea and a tissue!
