Ella Interviews Ms. Stripes

Ella McWoof here with a interview of one of Kinzville’s newest residents, Ms. Stripes. Ms. Stripes is a new teacher at the Kinzville Academy. Ms. Stripes, perhaps you’d like to start by telling us how you’re finding life in Kinzville. Ms. Stripes: Well, Ella, I’ll be honest – I got off to a little bit of a rocky start here. I think I was so concerned about being a good teacher that I came down a bit too hard on the kids and perhaps didn’t make the best first impression. Ella: Really? Well, that’s funny because recently I’ve been hearing really good things about you from the kids. I also heard that you hired some well-known elephants to help you get your house in order. Ms. Stripes: Oh, that’s true! You know, I have been saving up for years to buy a home and I wanted to make sure that when I did I had the KinzCash to do it up just the way I wanted. I had heard such great things about Hailey and Elwin and I must say they did not disappoint! I am just thrilled with my new home and Hailey and I have become quite friendly! … Read more

Decorating the KinzStyle Outlet for Fall

Hailey here with another fun makeover job for my brother and I! We’ve been asked to redecorate various stores in Kinzville and make them seasonally sensational! We’re starting with the KinzStyle Outlet – home of all things fashionable and fabulous. PJ told us that she just wanted a little bit of color to represent the fall season – and a few decorations to celebrate Halloween (her favorite holiday). So this is what we came up with:     What do you think? I love the warm orange walls (they used to be white) and the black flooring (very chic; I think PJ might actually keep it even after Halloween is over!). We’ve added various decorations, including two prize pumpkins. They’re just gorgeous! The striped orange and white chairs and orange carpets add an extra boost of fall. What’s your favorite thing about autumn or Halloween, friends?

Sparky’s Birthday Coming Up

My birthday is coming up this month and I’ve been trying to figure out what kind of party I should have. I was thinking of having a baseball party, but Salley said that not all the girls want to play baseball at a party, especially if they’re all dressed up. Nibbles said that I should have a dance party. Um, yeah right. That is NOT going to happen. Nibbles can have a dance party on HER birthday. But I might be sick that day. Then I thought, Ms. Stripes may try to take all the fun out of Halloween, but she can’t take the fun out of my birthday, right? That’s why I decided that since my birthday is this month I am going to throw my own awesome Halloween party! I am going to ask my Uncle Arte if we could hold it in the Curio Shop – it has all kinds of spooky old stuff in the back and maybe we could even go down into the mines! Wouldn’t that be a spooky/cool Halloween party? I can’t wait to ask my Uncle! In fact, I think I’ll go ask him now! Catch ya later!

Ella Interviews the new School Council President

Ella McWoof here. I just got the call I’ve been waiting for from Ms. Cowoline and I am pleased to announce that the results of the school council presidential election are in and that Polly Panda won by a landslide! Here with me now is Polly to answer some questions about how she is feeling at this moment. Ella: Congratulations, Polly! Polly: Oh Ella, thank you so so much! I am so excited. I can’t even believe this is happening to me. I mean, I thought that with Cowabelle being the principal’s daughter and Purr-Cilla being the vice-president last year, I wouldn’t really have a chance. Ella: Well, I guess the students were ready for a breath of fresh air. Have you spoken to your opponents yet? Polly: Yes, when Ms. Cowoline called me to tell me I asked if I could speak to Cowabelle and she was so nice about it. She said she was thrilled for me. I called Purr-cilla to see if she was okay with it and she wasn’t quite so thrilled. That’s all I want to say about that. Ella: Have you decided on who you might ask to work with you on council? Polly: … Read more

Giant Halloween Spider Web Cookie

Chef Sophia here with a fun (and delicious) idea for Halloween: a giant spider web cookie! Sounds interesting, right? Here’s what you need: Batch of chocolate chip cookie dough Round cookie sheet Cup of chocolate chips Plastic sandwich bag Candy coated chocolate pieces Adult assistant   Here’s what you do: Press the cookie dough onto the round cookie sheet (you can use parchment paper underneath so it’s easy to remove the cookie). Have your adult assistant bake the cookie. Let the cookie cool when it’s done. Have your adult assistant melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Let the chocolate cool down a little bit, and then pour it into your plastic sandwich bag. Cut a tiny hole in one corner of the bag. On your big cookie, draw a spider’s web. Add the candy coated chocolate pieces as spiders! Share your cookie with friends. You can cut it up like a pizza!

Ms. Stripes’ Class Halloween party

Sparky (aka Count Sparkula this month) here! Okay, so remember how first Ms. Stripes was really tough and then she got really nice, and I thought someone must have given her a brain transplant? Well, I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that for the most part the nice Ms. Stripes seems to be here to stay. The bad news is that the old Ms. Stripes seems to be rearing her head when it comes to planning our class Halloween party. First of all, she says no candy. What?! How can you possibly have a Halloween party with no candy? Halloween is all about candy! Second, she said that we can’t wear costumes because they are a hazard – that we might trip over our cloaks at recess or that they would impair our vision and make us walk into a tree or something!  If we can’t have candy and we can’t wear costumes, then what is the point of even having a Halloween party?

Hailey and Elwin’s Haunted Studio

Hey! It’s Elwin here and my sister Hailey had the coolest idea for October. She suggested that to promote our design work we redesign our studio for the month in a Halloween theme. It shows our sense of fun and versatility and it just makes our clients feel welcome when they visit the studio. We started with the Horrifying Halloween flooring and wallpaper and added a Freaky Full Moon Window. We replaced our reception desk with a Mad Scientist Workstation and a Creepy Cursed Chair next to a Fear Filled Fireplace. Isn’t that fun? For our coffee/snack area we used a Bone Chilling Fridge and Super Scary Stove as well as a Frightening Fireplace and a Cold Flames Cauldron just for fun. We blocked off the kitchen area with a Spider Webbed Bookshelf and added a Creature Closet where our clients could hang their coats. Or course we’re still a business so we wanted to make sure our clients were comfortable. That’s why we set up a meeting area with a Haunted House Table surrounded by a pair of black leather sofas, as well as a Neo Gothic Couch in reception. We also used a Neo Gothic Grandfather Clock, a … Read more
