Roberta’s costume
Hey, gang – it’s me, Roberta!!! I just wanted to thank all of you so much for helping me choose my Halloween costume and voting in the poll last weekend! I counted up all of the votes and guess which costume you chose for me? I’m a Mermaid! Cool, huh? I had so much fun at the Halloween Parade today. I guess I have all of you to thank for that too! You all did such a good job on that petition for Ms. Cowoline. I can’t wait to go out trick or treating with my friends tonight. I just hope it’s not too cold outside – this Mermaid costume is kind of chilly. Maybe I should bring my jacket. Thanks again! I hope you all have fun tonight!
Monster toes
What you need: - Cocktail wieners - Flour tortillas - Ketchup - An adult assistant to help you with this recipe What you do: Cut a wedge out of the edge of each cocktail wiener. Cut tortillas into 1” strips. Warm the strips in the oven for a few minutes to soften them. Wrap one strip around each wiener. Have your adult assistant heat the toes in the microwave for about a minute, then add ketchup to the wedge you cut to create a toenail. These treats taste as good as they look disgusting!
Spooky eyeball treats
What you need: - 3 tablespoons butter - 4 cups miniature marshmallows - 6 cups rice crisp cereal – Icing sugar – Water – Green & red food coloring – Chocolate chips – Paintbrush – Wooden skewers What you do: Melt butter and marshmallows in microwave. Pour cereal into large bowl and add marshmallow mixture, stirring with a wooden spoon until well combined. Form into small balls, set on a cookie sheet and refrigerate for one hour. Combine water and icing sugar in a bowl until it is slightly runny. Take rice crisp balls, poke onto a skewer and dip into icing. Sit skewer upside down in a glass until icing is hardened. Repeat twice until balls are covered in icing. With a paintbrush, paint a green circle onto eyeball with green food coloring. Press a chocolate chip into the center of the circle to make your eyeball’s pupil. Paint on veins with red food coloring. These creepy eyeballs may look scary but they taste oh so sweet!
