Nibbles Hippo: Cupcake Reporter
Nibbles Hippo here, with coverage of the super-awesome cupcake competition! On this, the day before the fair, I’m going to visit all of the bakers and see how their last minute cupcake-creations are coming along. Come with me and let’s see if we can get a sneak preview of some entries! Ah, here we are at Salley’s house. Now, Salley has been VERY busy getting everything ready. This whole fair was pretty much her idea, after all! Let’s see if we can chat with her for a second. I’ll just ring her doorbell and… *Ten minutes (and several doorbell rings) later* Hm. Doesn’t seem like she’s answering. No matter! We’ll hit Cowabelle’s house. She’s just down the street, and she should be home, working hard on her cupcake. Ah! Yes! I hear her footsteps. Let’s see if we can get an interview with her! CC: Hi Nibbles. What’s up?NH: I’m here to interview you!CC: What do you mean? Interview me about what?NH: Your cupcake! For tomorrow’s competition!CC: Uh, no. That’s not going to happen. My cupcake is under wraps! I’m not telling you what I’m doing!NH: Please? PLEASE?CC: No. See you … Read more

Roberta’s Craft
Know what I love? Big earrings! Probably because my ears are…somewhat…prominent. So. Big earrings! I LOVE making jewelry, so here’s how to make some pretty dangly earrings for yourself (or a friend). What you need:Beads, thread, needle, earring backing (either pierced or clip on), square of cardstock What you do: Put the thread through the needle. Choose which beads you’d like to use. I had this whole container of multi-colored beads. I did one rainbow pair and one blue-ish pair. Make a small knot at the end of the thread and string the beads onto the thread. You can make your earrings as dangly as you like! Tie the thread to your earring backing. Snip off any extra thread. Display your earrings on a piece of cardstock with your company’s name on it!
Stoogles’ Monster Cupcake
Oops, I sort of left this ‘til the last minute. Okay, here goes: What you need: - Cupcakes - White icing - Green food coloring - Red food coloring - Sprinkles What to do: Add green food coloring to icing until it is the right shade of green. Add red food coloring to icing until it is the right shade of red. Spread green icing all over the cupcake. Add a shock of red hair at the top. Make a face out of sprinkles. So, this isn’t that bad considering I didn’t really plan it out or put that much thought into it. I mean – compared to all those ‘Kinz who worked on theirs for ages, this is actually quite awesome. I think I should win the prize!

Molly’s Craft
I always have great ideas, but usually have a hard time remembering them. Fortunately, I’ve got this terrific craft to help! What you need: Small pad of sticky notes, construction paper, scissors, glue, stickers, markers – whatever you want to use to decorate the cover of the note pad What you do: Cut a piece of construction paper to fit over the sticky notes. It should fit the back and front, like the cover of a book. Glue the cover to the back of the pad of sticky notes. Decorate the front and back. These are super-handy to keep in your backpack!
