Now Retired: Webkinz Rottweiler
As much as we love each and every Webkinz pet in Webkinz World, the time comes when some of our older pets must be retired. Retired Pets are pets that we no longer produce. Today, we would like to announce that the Webkinz Rottweiler is being retired. The Rottweiler was released in July 2008. The brave Rottweiler is a guard dog by nature, so this pup is observant and smart. We bid a warm farewell to this dedicated dog!
Winterfest Begins!
Winterfest, our annual Webkinz World winter celebration, has begun! From today through to next Friday, you’ll be able to take part in a bunch of fun Winterfest activities taking place within Webkinz World, on the Ganz eStore, and here on Webkinz Newz! Here’s what you can do now: Snow is falling in Webkinz World! Catch a snowflake by clicking on it, and you’ll get one of three wonderful, winter-warming rewards! Winterfest Contest!
Winterfest arrives this weekend, and we’re celebrating with a contest! This time around, we’re asking you to design an awesome outdoor room. Using only W Shop items, design an outdoor yard that screams “winter wonderland”. Entries are judged on originality and suitability, as well as creative use of W Shop items. The five (5) most original entries will each win a Build-A-Snow-Fort Seige Tower (the “Prize”), one of the most exciting new items added to the Ganz eStore this winter. The contest opens at 12:00 am EST on January 23, 2010 and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on January 29, 2010. Update: What’s New in Webkinz World
We’ve got a big Webkinz World update today, with a brand new game and some brand new recipes. Here’s some of the fresh content new to Webkinz World today: Tunneling Twigzy: As the courageous caterpillar Twigzy, players must dig through a tree trunk to reach the ultimate party pad located towards the bottom of the trunk in this brand new Arcade game. New Recipes: Diligent chefs will be able to find two new stove recipes, two new sandwich maker recipes, and one new blender recipe! Bug Fixes: We’ve fixed a few bugs around Webkinz World, as well, including some text display issues in the Webkinz Stadium and navigation issues in the Travel Agency. Notice: Ganz eStore Scheduled Maintenance
The Ganz eStore will be taken down for maintenance tomorrow morning (Wednesday, January 20) from the hours of 3 AM EST to approximately 9 AM EST. During this time, the eStore will be inaccessible. Zingoz Bounce Being Retired, New Game Coming
December and January have been great months for games in Webkinz World. The Arcade received two brand new games late last year in Polarberry Jam and Jumbleberry Fields, and Duck Crossing has members flocking to the Tournament Arena in droves this month. While working hard on games in the past few months, we’ve decided to do some early spring cleaning, and we plan to retire Zingoz Bounce from the Webkinz Arcade soon. Though we may be retiring one game, we’re happy to announce that we’ve got another brand new game coming soon, so there’s reason to be excited. Check back here on Webkinz Newz for a preview of the new game in the next few days!
Magical Forest Bug Fix Coming
While we’ve been working hard to update Webkinz World with new games and content, we also spend a great deal of time fixing bugs and glitches that crop up. This allows us to make sure that Webkinz World is in tip-top shape for you, our valued members. As we announced with the recent update to Webkinz World, we’ve been working hard to fix the Magical Forest Silver Key issue that causes the game to freeze. We have received reports that the issue is persisting even after the recent update, so we are working to identify the problems and fix this bug now. We apologize for any inconvenience. For more information, stay tuned to Webkinz Newz for further updates regarding this and other issues affecting Webkinz World. We’ll have more on this story as it develops. Update: As announced by the Creative Director on our official Twitter feed, this issue has now been fixed, and the Magical Forest is open again!

Christmas Day Sweet Tooth Tiger Winners!
As one of our surprise Christmas contests for 2009, we gave members the chance to win the extremely limited Holiday 2009 virtual pet, the Sweet Tooth Tiger. Everyone who logged into Webkinz World on Christmas Day was entered into a draw for one of 25 Sweet Tooth Tiger pet codes. This rare pet will not be released as plush or through the Ganz eStore. We’re happy to announce that the 25 winners have been selected! To find out if you’re one of the lucky 25, simply log into Webkinz World, and check your KinzPost mail. Each player controls a duck, and the goal of the game is to move your duck from one end of the pond to the opposite end. New Theme Items: You’ll have the perfect play place for your pets with our newly-revamped “Kids” Theme, which is replacing the old Kids Theme that will now be retired to the Curio Shop. January’s Signature Pet
Not to be outdone by this month’s featured pets, January’s Signature Pet is a one-of-a-kind pup that is forever faithful. You’d be hard pressed to find a more adorable dog than the new Signature German Shepherd! Signature German Shepherds are tops when it comes to being loyal, strong and brave dogs.
