Molly (and Millie’s) Froggy Cupcake

Molly here! So I was working on my cupcake when my sister Millie walked into the kitchen. She saw what I was doing and immediately wanted to be involved and ‘help me out’. *Sigh*. I couldn’t say no, so we ended up with something a little simpler than I imagined. But it’s cute, right? Maybe Fluffington will go for cute. I hope so. If you want to make a frog like ours, here’s what you do: 1. Frost your cupcake in green frosting. Save a little bit and put it into an icing bag. 2. Cut a large marshmallow in half. Stick them on for eyes. 3. Put a little blob of green icing on each marshmallow half. Stick on a candy-coated chocolate. 4. Draw on a big smiley face with the green frosting. 5. Stick on a sour candy for a bowtie. 6. Watch your little sister dance around the kitchen on a sugar high (after eating many of the candies that didn’t make it onto the cupcake) singing “I love my froggy”. Hope you win the contest anyway.
Salley Cat’s Polar Bear Cupcake
This is my awesome polar bear cupcake design! I hope it reminds Fluffington of his favorite artist, Blake E. Behr (then maybe I’ll win the cupcake contest!). Here’s how you do it: 1. Frost your cupcake in vanilla frosting. 2. Stick on one brown candy-coated chocolate for a nose, and two chocolate chips for eyes. 3. Cut a marshmallow in half and stick on the halves for ears. 4. Cut a red jelly candy in half and stick on half for a mouth. 5. Eat up!
A Sweet Surprise!
Something VERY exciting happened on my way home from the ‘Kinz meeting! Salley and I stopped at the W Shop to pick up a chocolate bar (that wasn’t the exciting thing, although it was delicious). We were talking about the cupcake contest when suddenly, from behind a shelf, out pops Fluffington! He asked “did you say CUPCAKE CONTEST?!” We told him about the fair and the contest, and you’ll NEVER believe what he said next! “If you let me be the judge, I’ll donate a huge prize! Two tickets to the Henrietta Hippo Theatre of Performing Arts, a dinner for four at Le Snout and dessert at La Soufflé, and W200!” Salley and I nearly fainted! Salley managed to say “Sure, yes, great!” And Fluffington shook her paw and said “It’s a deal!” Oh. My. Gosh. I’m SO excited! I can’t wait to tell everyone. Somehow, I think even Purr-Cilla will be entering now. Salley and I both decided: we’re going to head home and start baking tonight!
Volunteers Wanted!

So guess what I learned today? Sometimes your friends aren’t very helpful. Sometimes you’ve got to beg and plead to get stuff done. And sometimes, if all else fails, you’ve got to bribe your friends with salsa and homemade cookies. Stoogles and I had a ‘Kinz meeting today and we were asking our friends to help with the fair. We just wanted them to volunteer for one hour at a game or ride or booth. The idea is to get LOTS of volunteers, so everyone only has to work for one hour, and they get two hours of fun. The problem is, EVERYONE wanted the ‘cool’ jobs, like making cotton candy or helping with the rides. No one wanted to sell tickets or work at the first aid station. So I offered cookies or salsa to anyone who took a ‘boring’ job. And you know what? They STILL complained! Eventually, Molly agreed to help at the first aid station (she said it could be ‘interesting’). Stoogles and I decided to take tickets. Yuck. Maybe Purr-Cilla has had better luck finding volunteers.
Games at the Fair?

Salley Cat reporting in on our plans for the Fall Fair. So, things didn’t really work out the way Stoogles and I imagined they would. Maybe we didn’t have quite the budget we thought we did. But we did end up getting some of the stuff we wanted for the Fall Fair. The only thing is that now I think we need some other activities as well. Stoogles and I thought maybe we could make up some games for the ‘Kinz to play too. So now we have to think up some games. I had hoped to have a Dunk Tank but that wasn’t in our budget. I’m sure we can make some games without spending too much money. The only problem is, if we have games, then we’re going to have to have prizes. We don’t have any money left over. I wonder how we’re going to be able to afford prizes too? Hmm, looks like I’m going to have to confer with my council on this one. Maybe Purr-cilla has an idea. She’s been so hard on all of MY ideas – let’s see if she can figure this one out.
