Summertime Craft – Beanbag Toss
Molly is going to have to babysit Millie for a few weeks this summer, and she was trying to figure out some fun games to play with her. This is one of my favorites – beanbag toss! What you need: Large piece of Bristol Board, markers, scissors, felt, needle and thread, small sandwich bags, dried beans To make the beanbags, cut out two five-inch felt squares per bag. Sew around three sides of the square (leave one side open). Fill a sandwich bag halfway with dried beans. Seal the sandwich bag. Put the sandwich bag into your felt square. Sew up the last side. Now you’ve got a beanbag! To make the target, draw circles on the Bristol board, using a marker. You can make one big target, or several smaller ones worth different numbers of points. When you’re all ready, stand back and toss that beanbag. If you get it onto the target, keep track of how many points you scored. Whoever has the most points after five throws is the winner!
Play Smoothie Moves!
There’s nothing like a cool smoothie at the end of a hot summer’s day – and that’s why you should check out Smoothie Moves in the Webkinz World Arcade! Blanche is a cat who works at a diner, and she needs your help to fill all the smoothie orders. Help by tossing food onto the conveyor belt to make a group of three or more of the same food. When you do, the group will disappear. When you use all the ingredients on the conveyor belt, you move up a level! Watch out for awesome combos and cool power ups – and make sure the food doesn’t fall off the end of the conveyor belt! Head over to the Webkinz World Arcade today and play!
Play Pizza Palace!
Berry is a cat with a big dream: to have Kinzville’s most successful pizza restaurant! You can help her achieve her goals by serving customers at the Pizza Palace. Just click on a customer to see their order, and then get to work! First go to the dough maker and choose the right size of pizza. Next, pick it up and choose the toppings the customer asked for. When the pizza is ready, pop it in the oven to cook. When it’s done, go get it and give it to the customer. Remember: bigger pizzas are worth more points. If you ever make a mistake, you can recycle the pizza and try again. The key is to be quick and accurate – you need to get those pizzas done before your time runs out! Ever made a few pizzas with Berry? Do you have any tips to share?
Play Polarberry Jam!
It’s super-hot outside, so why not cool off with a great game of Polarberry Jam? This Yeti-dodging, berry collecting game is sure to be a hit with anyone who likes a snow-filled challenge! Just be sure to avoid touching a Yeti (although you can run past them if they’re stuck in the ice or stunned by a snowball) and get those Polarberries! To move around, use the arrow keys. To pick up a snowball, walk past it. To throw it at a Yeti, press the spacebar. To dump snow on a Yeti, walk past the bucket switch. To make a water trap for a Yeti to walk into, walk over the ice and then get out of the way! Have you played Polarberry Jam before? Have any helpful hints to share?
Make Your Own Smoothie Moves Game!
Roberta here with another fun craft! This time, it’s making our very own version of the Smoothie Moves game! This is a great game you can play at a party – or the next time your friends come to visit. What you need: Six plastic or paper cups, large piece of round cardboard (big enough to fit all the cups), craft glue, masking tape, marker, small rubber balls or pompoms What you do: On each plastic cup, stick a piece of masking tape. On each piece of masking tape, write a number. This is what the cup is worth. Decorate the cardboard tray any way you like. Glue each cup to the round cardboard tray. When the glue is dry, practice tossing the ball or pompoms into the cups. Give each friend 3 balls or pompoms. Each ball or pompom that gets into a cup counts for the number of points written on the cup. Tally up each person’s points after their three turns. The person with the most points wins!
Amazing Operation Gumball!
Operation Gumball is a fantastically challenging game in the Arcade. It’s a code-breaking, gumball rolling good time! To play this game, you have to guess the order and the sequence of the number needed to crack the code. Just watch the time on the clock and make sure you guess the sequence before the gumballs fill up the machine! When you’re cracking the code, the gumballs that roll out tell you about whether the code you guessed is right or not. This is what the colors tell you: You know you’ve got a correct number in a correct spot if you see a green gumball. You know you’ve got a correct number in an incorrect spot if you see a red gumball. You know none of the numbers you guessed are correct at all if you see no gumballs. The trophy is totally awesome – and you have a chance to win it at any point during the game (but you can only ever win one). Good luck with those gumballs!
Play Lily Padz 2: Down Pourz!
Summer is usually filled with sunny, warm days and bright, clear skies…except when a storm is brewing! That’s one of the things you have to watch out for in Lily Padz 2: Down Pourz. In this game, you’re a frog who has to watch for bees, rising water, and rainstorms. You use the arrow keys and space bar to aim and jump. Keep jumping from mushrooms to lily pads to logs to rocks – but don’t stay stationary for too long, or you’ll sink (unless you’re on a rock – they don’t sink). The first time you make it to the end of the game, you’ll get a trophy! Time to play Lily Padz 2: Down Pourz now!
Make the Mining Game!
Roberta here with a really fun game craft! One of the great things about the Webkinz Road Trip is the games that you can play to try and win a prize. I figured out a really fun way to make a game that you can play with your friends. It’s based on the Gem Mining job! Here’s how to make a gem mine of your own. What you need: Fake plastic jewels in five different colors (three of each gem), box, gray paint, paintbrush, shredded newspaper or tissue paper What you do: Paint the box gray. This is your ‘mine.’ Put your jewels in the box. If you like, layer them with the shredded paper (so they’re distributed throughout the box). Have your friend reach into the box and pull out a jewel. Have them try to find the other two jewels that match the color they chose. If your friend gets all three jewels of one color, they win a prize! If the second jewel they pull out doesn’t match the first one, have them put both jewels back in and have someone else take a turn.
Fabulous Flutterbugged
Get ready for a whole lot of laughter with Fiona the sheep in Flutterbugged! The Flutterbugs will chase Fiona around trying to tickle her, so it’s your job to use the arrow keys and avoid them. Lead the Flutterbugs toward the candy carnations and keep Fiona from being caught. The more you avoid those bugs, the faster they’re going to fly! Avoid them long enough and you just might win the Flutterbugged trophy!
Play Booger gets an A!
School’s out for summer, so what better time to brush up on your math skills? Now with Booger Gets an A, you’ll be able to be an arithmetic ace by the time September rolls around! Just look at the number Booger is thinking of and make it by clicking on blocks that add up to the number. Certain blocks have symbols on them and if you use the blocks in your addition, you can use their powers. A block with an eraser will erase one line of numbers. A block with a clock on it will stop the time for a few moments. A block with an apple on it will knock off some of the sums you have to make (so you’ll have to make fewer of them). This game has a pretty amazing calculator trophy, so see if you can win it!
Jumbleberry Fields Tips
Felicity Tiger here with some handy tips to help you get the most out of Jumbleberry Fields! 1. If you manage to get any purple Moonberries, keep them. Those are worth the most and they’re the hardest to get. Whether you assign them to the Moonberry basket or one of the number baskets is up to you – but definitely keep them if you roll them! 2. If you happen to roll one of each color, put it into the Mixed Basket right away – it’s hard to get one of each color! 3. Jumbleberries and Sugarberries are the easiest to get, so look for these ones when you’re trying to fill your four and five baskets. Obviously, if you manage to get four Pickleberries or Moonberries, wonderful! Save up the berries you earn and you’ll have your jam jars filled in no time! Happy berry picking!
Cowabelle’s Hula Hoop Game
Cowabelle here with the easiest fair game EVER! All you need are some hula hoops and some participants! What you need: Hula hoops, participants (one per hoop) What you do: Have everyone get into hula-hooping position. Yell “Start!” and everyone should start hooping. As players drop their hoops, they’re out. The last player still spinning their hoop is the winner! If you have a group of hooping experts, you can always challenge them to go faster or slower and see if they can keep their hoops moving!
Lucky Ducky Fall Fair Game
Molly here with a really easy game – even Millie might win a prize from this one! What you need: tub of water, lots of rubber ducks, dice, permanent marker, colored markers, large paper, prizes What you do: Fill the tub with water (always make sure babies and toddlers stay away from the tub!). On the bottom of each duck, write a number between 1-6. On the large paper, write the numbers 1-6. Beside each number, write the name of a prize. Roll a die (that’s one dice). Whatever number comes up is the lucky number. Have players pick ducks from the tub until someone gets the lucky number. Look on the chart to see which prize they should get. At the end of a turn, have the players put the ducks back into the tub and mix them around. Then play again until all the prizes are gone!
Fall Fair Game: Pop a Balloon
Hi there! It’s Cowabelle here with a really easy game to play at a party (or, in our case, a fall fair). When playing this game, just make sure to watch out for little kids and pets – be certain the broken balloon pieces get cleaned up right away so they don’t end up in someone’s mouth! Here’s how you play the game: 1. Pick up a bunch of prizes (small things like pencils, erasers, stickers – stuff like that). 2. Write out the prize names on small slips of paper. 3. Get a whole lot of balloons (one for each prize). 4. Put the prize name into the balloon. Blow it up and tie it. 5. Stick the balloons to a fence or wall. 6. Give your guests a pointy toothpick and have them pick a balloon to pop. 7. The guest gets whatever prize was in the balloon they popped!
