Make your OWN summer camp in the backyard!

Summer camp is totally fun, but if you’re not going away this summer, don’t worry – you can make your very own camp in your very own backyard!

Just invite your friends over and have a great time with these ideas:

Water gun archery: Draw a chalk dartboard on a brick wall or a fence. Have friends take turn firing with their water guns to see who can aim the closest to the center.

Rock Paper Scissors: Have a tournament and see who can make it to the final round!

Skipping: Time everyone and see who can skip the most jumps!

Obstacle Course: Set up hula hoops, chairs, tables – anything you can think of! Make people dash through, over and under obstacles.  Time your friends and see who can do it fastest!

Bean Bag Toss: Set up buckets and have friends toss beanbags from varying distances (whoever can throw the bag into the bucket from the furthest distance wins). For a summery twist, use water balloons!

Craft Table: Set up a table for friends to make camp-like crafts (you can get some great ideas for camp crafts here on Webkinz Newz!).

Animal Tag: Someone is ‘it’ and they’re hungry! It chooses what kind of animal it wants to be and announces it to everyone else. When ‘It’ is about to tag someone, that person can avoid being tagged if they say the name of an animal that begins with the same first letter as ‘Its’ animal. For example, if It chose to be a ‘bear’, then the first person It would try to tag would have to think of another animal’s name that starts with a B (like ‘beaver’ or ‘barn owl’). ‘It’ would have to move on and try someone else. If you can’t think of a name that starts with the letter,  It gets to tag you and the game stops while the new It announces their animal name (only one rule: it has to start with a different letter than the first ‘IT’ used).
