Plumpy’s Sweet Idea

Chapter 1:

Plumpy Hippo had been SO excited about her vacation in Kinzville. She hadn’t been back in almost a year and could not wait to see all her friends and stay with her bestie, Wiggles Pig. But as soon as Plumpy arrived, she realized that things weren’t exactly as she remembered them.

First of all, Wiggles had grumped and griped the whole way home from the airport. Second, everyone, absolutely everyone Plumpy had run into, was in a terrible mood. And it all seemed to be because of the weather. A cold rain had been falling for a whole month. The Webkinz were ready for spring, but the temperatures stayed low. The skies remained a steely gray.

And everyone was perpetually soggy.

“I’m the advice hippo. I have to do SOMETHING to make things better,” Plumpy said to herself one dreary morning. “But WHAT?” Plumpy made herself a coffee (four sugars, four creams) and took out her box of 196 markers (brainstorming required a lot of colours, and Plumpy never traveled without her markers). She spread a large sheet of paper across Wiggles’ dining table. On it, she wrote down an explosion of ideas (some good, some not so good). After reading and re-reading the list, Plumpy realized something. “I know what the antidote to a sour mood is: sweetness! What we need in this town is some candy!”

Plumpy had to choose between her two most brilliant, candy-filled ideas:

Idea 1:

A candy truck, like an ice cream truck, that Plumpy drives around and sells candy to cheer up grumpy Webkinz. She serves it all with gentle words and good advice!
