In Chapter 3
Plumpy reaches out to Sam McWoof about an article in Webkinz Newz and runs into his daughter Ella who is trying to convince him to throw a party! We counted the votes and the winner was idea 1:

Chapter 4: Plumpy to the Rescue?

“I think you should support Ella’s great idea,” Plumpy said, bravely. “It’s been so dreary and gloomy outside, and a party to welcome new Webkinz might just be the thing to turn everyone’s mood around.”
Sam’s eyebrows knitted. This was never a good sign. Plumpy remembered this from her days in the Webkinz Newz writer’s room.
“Come on, Dad,” Ella said, patting her father’s paw. “You were just saying how miserable the weather has been. Why not, like, try to bring everyone some joy?”
Sam sighed. “Fine,” he said. “But YOU are in charge of the party, Ella. I’m far too busy to get involved in this frivolity. And Plumpy, why ARE you here, anyway?”
“Well,” Plumpy said, figuring now was as good a time as any to pitch her business. “I was hoping to run an ad in the Newz. I have a new candy business – Plumpy’s Sweet Surprises. I started it for the same reason Ella is having her party. I want to bring joy and sweetness to Kinzville with baskets of homemade candy.”
Sam rolled his eyes. “That’s such a Plumpy thing to do,” he said gruffly. “But it doesn’t surprise me that the two of you have come up with a solution to gloominess. You’re both…so…cheerful.”
“Hey, I’ve got a GREAT idea – you can make the refreshments for my party!” Ella exclaimed, hugging Plumpy again. “It’ll be a super-fun way to tell everyone about your business AND it’ll make my party even better. The only thing is, I can’t really pay you for your work. But that’s okay, right?”

What should Plumpy say?

Idea 1:

Plumpy should agree to supply the refreshments. What better way to get the word out about Plumpy’s Sweet Surprises than through an awesome party?!

Idea 2:

Plumpy should agree to make the refreshments – BUT – she should bargain with Sam for a free ad in the Webkinz Newz. Exposure is one thing, but free marketing is better!
