Design a Classic AND Next Pet!

It’s that time again when we ask our talented players to submit their pet designs, and this year’s contest is doubly exciting! That’s because for the first time ever we’re asking you to submit your ideas for a pet that will be created in Webkinz Classic AND in Webkinz Next!

The winning pet will be available to purchase at Ganz eStore and the Classic WShop (Classic version) and in the Next Adoption Center (Next version) starting on Webkinz Day, April 29, 2024!

Pet submissions must fit into one of the following categories:

- four legged pets, like a dog or a cat

- knucklewalking pets, like an ape

- hopping pets, like a bunny or a frog

Bird and fish submissions will not be selected.

The winning designer will receive two virtual pets based on their design, one in Classic and one in Next. They will also receive a Pet Design Trophy. Ten finalists will each receive a virtual Webkinz Next Best Of Mystery Capsule, and a virtual Webkinz Classic Buttercup ?? Box.

Here’s how it works:

Between January 10 and 31, 2023 design a four-legged, knuckle-walking or hopping pet that you think would make a great addition to Webkinz Classic & Next!

You can use any kind of art supplies that you want – markers, pencil crayons, crayons, or other art materials. While we will not accept images that have computer generated patterns or graphics copied and added to them, participants may use programs like Paint or Photoshop to color and draw freehand. We can’t accept submissions with company logos or sports team emblems. Please make sure you save your images as a jpg, gif, or png.

You don’t need to include a suggestion for the pet’s PSI and PSF but you can if you want!
Submit your drawing to the Classic and Next Pet Gallery in the Share Center by January 31, 2024.

Then wait to see if your design is one of the 10 finalists.

Please note that while the Webkinz Next artists will use the winning design as inspiration for a new pet, the design may need to be adapted in order to work as a 3d pet.

We can’t wait to see your submissions for a new pet in our first ever Next (and Classic) pet design contest! Good luck!

Do you have a general idea when the finalists will be revealed?:)

I submitted my entries this morning but when I went to look at them again this afternoon they have no shown up in the “My share canter” section. I can see my entries from past contests though. Do images have to be approved before they get uploaded or is there some sort of error occurring?

I’m seeing entries that, while beautiful, either don’t seem like they could plausibly be implemented into Next’s 3D, or don’t follow the eligibility requirements (flying, upright-walking, two-legged, etc). It’s still fun to look through all the cool designs though! Also here’s a reminder that Share Center user votes do NOT improve or hinder your chances of becoming a finalist. Finalists are not selected based on Share Center voting.

Yes! This exactly. “Votes” in the ShareCenter mean nothing, folks. Don’t fret if you have a low “score” and don’t get too confident if your “score” is higher than everyone else’s.

I submitted the Appaloosa Horse as my entry for the pet design contest, I submitted it twice I was trying to figure out the “Tag” I hope it worked. Sorry for the inconvenience of the duplicated entry.

My submission appears slightly stretched/distorted on the gallery despite not being submitted that way :( Is this a bug? Should I try to resubmit it?
