Most pets that appear in Webkinz World are based off a plush toy that can be bought at a store and adopted online at the Adoption Center. When we create a “virtual only” pet (a pet that is not sold as a plush toy), the artists have a lot more freedom to experiment with design and color.
When we decided that we wanted to make a Snowy Googles, an artist came up with 6 different designs for the pet featuring slight color variations:
Once it was decided that #4 was the design we wanted to move forward with, a writer came up with ideas for the pet’s adoption gifts and the Snowy Googles was released in Webkinz World:
