Dorothy Lou’s Spring European Villa Getaway

Welcome to my European Villa! To create a Spring European Villa getaway, I focused on two things: Family and Fancy stuff. Here’s what I’ve designed:

The Family Room

I wanted my villa to be a large family gathering place so I’ve circled-up some seating by the fire and arranged it around a rug for kids’ seating. To complement the Villa’s grey walls, I’ve paired a Blue Denim and Lace Sofa and Armchair with two white Elegant Christmas Armchairs and tied them nicely together with a super cute Country Cottage Sofa.

The Country Cottage Fireplace looks so fancy on this wall. Notice, my Gem Hunt Jewel Box on the mantel? I thought that was a nice family-style fancy touch too. And check out those Wrought Iron Wall Sconces. They work perfectly!

The Kids’ Carousel Castle

Since my Villa getaway is a family experience, I have created this awesome kids’ room! I will admit that I have been collecting Princess and the Pea Beds so that I could build a fun room like this for my kids. There’s one grown-up bed in the corner because obviously kids need supervision.

I was planning on keeping the wallpaper consistent in my Villa but I couldn’t resist using this Cozy Carousel Paper I made on my drafting table. I LOVE this room.

The Dining Nook

It wouldn’t be a family getaway without a giant dining experience!

I have piled in the dispensibles and collected most of my presentable food items in this room. It’s so fun to have a messy food space in between four beautiful Villa walls.

These Country Cottage Dining Tables are so homey. Push a group of them together, gather the family around, and let’s eat!

The Cat Spa

Where do the grown-ups go when the kids are asleep? To The Cat Spa, of course!

I built this room for all of the indulgent cats I know (present company included) who love a luxurious bath, nap or cup of tea.

If you’re looking for me, I’ll be here.

The Garden

Ok, ok, I know the Cozy Cottage Gazebo is a piece of cottage furniture but it’s just so fancy and gorgeous, I had to put it in my garden.

And can you say “water features”? Aside from the pool, we have the Southern Savannah Shower (elephant PSI), Lovely Lilypad Pond (Frog PSI) and a Muddy March (Pig PSI). On a beautiful day, this garden is the perfect place to relax.

Dorothy Lou, you achieved your goal ~ your European Villa is indeed fancy and looks like a great place for family to gather, relax, unwind, and make good memories! I love your kids’ room. (The carousel wallpaper is one of my favorites!) Where do you get the ‘Princess and the Pea’ beds on Next? I like that there is a dorm mother on duty. It somehow makes me think of the book ‘Madeline’ by Ludwig Bemelmans. I love all of your water feature areas as I find that soothing too. Please let me know where I can get the beautiful gold bath from your cat spa. I have a game question that I am hoping that you or another player can answer ~ in Polar Plunge, how do I time my jump to avoid the tree at the bottom of the slope. (That always wipes me out and ends my game.) Your tips helped me get the required score for the Wacky Zingoz challenge, so I am hoping that you can work your magic again. Any help would be appreciated!
