Happy Solstice everyone!

For us in the northern hemisphere, it’s the shortest day of the year… or the longest night, however you want to look at it! The cool thing is that it means that the days will be getting longer and longer after this — a little something to look forward to when the weather is chilly!

I don’t know about you, but I plan on spending the whole day outside, getting as much sun as possible! I think I’ll head to the Kinzville Park to pick up some trash (always good to take care of the environment!), and maybe go say hi to the Wooly Piglet in the Clubhouse — that room is super fun, with all kinds of fun things to do in the snow. I might also check out the Frozen Playground to play with some more outdoor stuff.

I might take a walk through the Magical Forest — I haven’t used up all my extra plays from the Days of Play yet! And I’m thinking about heading to the spa afterwards, to get some serious rest and relaxation on Vacation Island before getting ready for the big holiday celebrations!

How are you going to spend the Solstice? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time… it’s been real!

XO

Ella

I spent this Winter Solstice going downtown to go to the dentist and go shopping. My favorite thing I did today so far, though, was Webkinz. I enjoy logging on every day and enjoying all the Holiday events, like the floating medallions, Ms. Birdy in the clubhouse, and the countdown to Christmas codes.

This is totally unrelated to the topic, but could someone help me out…? I tried entering today’s advent calendar code in the Code Shop, but it kept telling me that I entered it in wrong. I tried some different combinations (I wasn’t quite sure if those were “B’s” or “8′s” in the two last parts of the code), but nothing worked, and now it says that I’m banned from the shop for a whole 24 hours XP Thankfully, I still have a couple more accounts to try it on, but I’m kinda hesitant to try my hand at it at, since I don’t wanna get banned on those ones, too. Does anyone know what the actual code is supposed to be?

To top it off not only is it a short day but it’s also overcast….could really use some sun right now!

Agreed! It’s dark and dreary over here… hard to enjoy a solstice when there’s no light to observe and enjoy!

(Didn’t mean to say “enjoy” twice. I really need a thesaurus, haha)

It still makes sense. I guess you could’ve said that there is no enjoyment in a solstice when there is no light to observe and enjoy? I get it, I live in a Central area that is bordering on Northern gateway, so our daylight hours are greatly reduced with the solstice. That first month out of the solstice is a long trek back. I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. My workplace becomes a bit of a dungeon because I have no windows in my cement walled outlet. If I want ‘day’ light? I have to go outside the store. And during this season, walking away is not an option LOL I will be much happier in February, TBH So, I get what you are saying completely.

Oh, my, goodness! At least I have windows even if it is dark! It’s not quite so bad when there is a full or nearly full moon out.

I don’t mind the overcast, but wow I sure wish all this rain could be turned off!!!

I’ve spent time delivering goodies to some older folks who do not get a lot of visitors this morning. I can’t wait to see more family on Christmas. Merry Christmas everyone!

Scientin and I are going to the botanical gardens early during the members only hour. In the afternoon I’ll be baking things for Christmas & getting ready for zoomypuss’ arrival home for the holidays.

It’s a day of mourning…longer days, looming dread of nightmare warming weather, bleh no. If you think it’s a good thing, you can have it, but it is the beginning of the end for me.

    • ringneck1 says:

…wut? You like nights being longer than days?

      • zoomycat says:

I don’t mind longer daylight, but some of us hate the burning heat those longer days bring. At least here where I live in the Southwest.

        • Anathema says:

ringneck1, yep. I’m a true, classic, to the bone night owl, and I love the longer nights, always have. Plus yeah, what zoomycat said. I’m in the south, and I also have a lifelong pure shining hatred for heat and hot weather. Longer days and what is generally 9-10 months of freaking horrible swelter is awful. And worse, we might get snow once a year, if that, and rarely even enough to legit say it snowed, but we have had what feels like 12 weeks of never ending rain. Ugh.

      • TaffyKitty12 says:

Guess it all just depends on where you live? I can definitely see how long nights and cooler temperatures can be a relief for those residing in sweltering hot areas. However, being from the upper Midwest, the winters here are brutally cold, and the early darkness is sometimes tiring and depressing. I don’t mind the days getting dark at 6 or 7, but 4 o’ clock is too much for me. I prefer the warmth and sunlight!

Let it snow…Let it snow…Let it snow… :D Happy first day of winter everyone!
