Retired means that all the ones made have been sold. As new pets are added older pets “retire” or aren’t made anymore.

You know, nobody seems to like it when pets retire, especially when it’s one pet every single week. Why not retire only one each month? It’s beginning to get very annoying seeing things pop up every week saying, ‘this pet is retiring! Oh, now this one is, too!’ Please at least don’t retire so many!
I have been playing webkinz for almost 7 years now, since 2007, that was back before there was no deluxe memberships, no air treetop rooms, or underwater, just the simple small, medium, large, and backyard rooms. When there was just 1 page of Webkinz to choose from, no free ones at start, and there was no little kinz, and the retired webkinz thought was not even heard of. Many of you were wondering, “Why do they retire Webkinz? its so sad!” or, “Why would they do this it just gives us less Webkinz to choose from!” Well im going to tell you why. FIrst of all, they only produce a certain amount of each pet, and sell them off to all the stores. once all the stores buy the products, they keep in touch, and once they are all sold out, they say it’s retired. But just because the stores sold out of them, its not the end of the world, there will not be less to choose from, they have it planned, so that when one retires, another comes out, its a common Webkinz cycle.
