Fan Mail with Fiona #108

It’s me, Fiona, back for another round of fan mail! As always, for my past answers, click here! If you miss me, you can always head to KinzPost and send a letter or a package, and I’ll deliver it for you! Don’t forget, you can add me as a friend by going to KinzChat and adding Fiona Feathers (include the space!).

Hi Fiona! When you adopt 2 pets at once, does it extend your account expiration for 2 years or does it just do 1 year from that date? – cat2f

Hi, cat2f! Each Webkinz pet that you adopt will give you full membership for a year from the date of adoption and these do not stack. So if you adopt 2 pets on the same day, it’s still 1 year from that day. If you adopt one today and one tomorrow, it’ll be a year from tomorrow. Does that make sense?

Hello Fiona! I was wondering why wall items cannot be put into storage containers. It sure would help with storing so many of the wonderful items that have come out in so many years. – LeeLee

That’s a great question, LeeLee! Did you know fewer things used to go in storage? It’s true — coupons and coins are some of the most recent things that have been changed, and once upon a time there was no way to store your wallpaper and flooring either. Ganz eStore recently came out with a garage that stores certain cars, too! What I’m saying is that you’ve got a great idea, and I’ll be happy to pass it on.

Dear Fiona Feathers. Just to follow up on your response to the last question: If I buy a deluxe membership for someone else, does that person receive the code for the pet or do I? I should add that I meant for the recipient of my gift to receive the pet code as well. Please clarify. Thanks, Traveller

That’s an important question, Traveller, and the answer is that whoever buys the 1-year membership is the one that receives the Adoption Code for the special promotional pet. Whoever uses the code will receive the Super Deluxe item, though.

LeeLee, I’m so glad you asked that question.I have been wanting to ask it for soooooo long. I have tons of wall stuff and not enough wall space even with over a hundred rooms ,lol , I hope soon we can store them.

Dear Fiona, I’m curious why the forums on Webkinz Newz stop moderating around 4 pm, and why they don’t moderate at all on the weekends? My youngest son’s school bus doesn’t even get home until 4 pm, so I’m thinking many other kids are the same way. And weekends are usually when people have more time to play Webkinz. Is it because there are not enough workers? Or is there another reason? I think it would be great for the Webkinz Newz community to extend the forum hours somehow, even just until 6 pm would be cool. :) Thanks!

Random thought as I wait for floating hearts: Other people have been asking for more kinz $ seeds. More seeds, plus maybe a cookbook for farm fresh foods? (sample idea: street tacos–corn, tomatoes, and chili peppers) Maybe have the current recipes loosen up a little and allow more substitutions? For example, right now health juice requires an apple, but you can’t use red delicious apples. You also can’t use snow peas in place of regular peas. Maybe make seeds that grow w shop foods?

I was thinking the same thing that cat2f was! Glad I know that now!

  5. zengirl says:

The deluxe item goes with the Deluxe membership code, not the pet. I havent adopted my soft tiger yet but did receive my deluxe item.

These were all such good questions! @cat2f – I agree that stacking would be great, because sometimes you receive several webbies as a gift for a special occasion, and you want to adopt them all right away, and start playing with them in WW. I always try to wait a while, and space them out so they will extend my membership. @LeeLee, that’s a great suggestion! I think that we would all benefit from a wall decoration storage solution that can be purchased with KC. @Traveller, thank you for trying to help clarify the issues with the adoption codes. I am still unsure about some points though. Fiona, if I purchase a deluxe membership for myself, and receive the code for the currently featured pet, but it is not a pet that I wish to adopt on my main account, may I use the code and adopt that pet on a secondary account of mine? (My secondary account is not deluxe, and I don’t have it linked to an estore account.) I hope that you can help me to understand the rules a little better. Thanks! @Beckinz8

    • Alphaowlbear says:

Hi Beckinz8 – I’ve been purchasing the annual Deluxe on my main account for a little over three years and have always saved the free pet codes to use on secondary accounts to help maintain their full status. I’ve never encountered any issues doing it that way.

      • Beckinz8 says:

Thanks @Alphaowlbear! I have only recently ventured into the realm of secondary accounts (not even 9 months), and I used a code from a pet that I didn’t wish to adopt on my main to give the secondary account full status. When the year is up, I want to do it again with another code that I have, but this one is for a pet that I won as part of a contest. I don’t know if I would be allowed to do that, even though I am the person who won, my secondary account was not directly connected to my winning. Am I explaining it correctly, or do I need to try saying it differently? I hope that the Ganz team can clarify for me. My code for the pet that I won just continues to sit and wait until I can find out specifically where he is and isn’t allowed to go. (Kind of funny since he’s a harvest sheep! No wandering off out of the designated pasture!)

As long as you have an individual code you can put it anywhere. I’ve done that with an extra Rosy Satin Cow pet and put her on my secondary account.

    • sambear1 says:

Dear Beckinz. There is already a wallpaper storage unit in the wshop for sale, it holds 9 wallpapers / floors, and cost 850 kc it is called “Sample styles cabinet” it is located under “storage” in the wshop. Hope this helps.

      • Beckinz8 says:

Hi @sambear1! I thank you for your suggestion! I love those storage units and already have 25! I would be lost without them. I was commenting on the second question asked in the article above by the player named LeeLee. They asked if there could be a storage unit created to hold wall decorations, like paintings, posters, clocks, etc. because most of us just cover the walls of our storage rooms with our extras of these items, but it is not very organized, so a dedicated storage unit would be wonderful. While I wait for the designers to develop this, I think it’s time for me to go pick up a few more sample styles cabinets! Thanks for taking the time and care to reply to my post!

  7. LeeLee says:

Thank you for answering my question Fiona! Ganz did a great job with the samples cabinet, so I hope they can come up with something to store everything else.

    • megamom12 says:

I would also love to be able to store wall items. That way I can have my holiday decorations all in one place so that they are easier to find. (Christmas wreaths, Easter and Spring/Fall items and the like.)

  8. mochidochi says:

Fiona, is there an “up close” post that includes the postcard collection? I’d really like to see What they all say or show!

  9. netge says:

Great question from LeeLee, I could really do with somewhere to put all of mine At the moment I tend to stick them round the walls of my storage rooms, but then they get mixed up and I don’t know what I have where without going through all my rooms, would be great to be able to organise them properly.

  10. Newfiewt says:

Traveller, when you purchase a deluxe membership, as a gift, you will receive a code for the membership and a separate code for the pet. You can gift both codes or keep one for yourself. :)

    • Traveller says:

@Newfiewt I ran into trouble when I wanted to send the pet code to the member to whom I gifted the membership. Ganz stepped in to help out because we aren’t allowed to share email addresses.

      • Beckinz8 says:

That is very helpful info @Traveller! I have a WW friend that doesn’t have his own email yet. He uses his parents’ email. I have no idea if I can safely send him a code for a pet. We know each other irl, so maybe I can actually mail the code in a letter through the USPS the old-fashioned way. LOL!

    • FoxesRule612 says:

That’s good to know. I’ve considered getting a year of Deluxe before and giving the pet code to a friend.
