How do you decide how to make all the Webkinz? Do you still make Lil Kinz?

Great question, Abri! We’ve talked about this before but I love talking about the creative process! So I asked Gennelle Webkinz, a member of the Webkinz Creative Department, for an answer. She replied: “There are two types of Webkinz that we create throughout the year. The first is plush, which is decided by our wonderful Plush Department. They take great care to design pets that have interesting patterns and fabric and that add something fresh and new to Webkinz World. The second type of Webkinz is virtual-only. You’ll find these at the eStore. The Webkinz creative team (led by Michael Webkinz, our Creative Lead, and Karl, our Creative Director) takes a LOT into consideration when we design new pets: have we made one before? Is it a much-requested fan idea? Is it unique and interesting? We have much more freedom creating virtual pets because they can look so different from the plush designs!”

 

It’s Fiona again! As for Lil Kinz, we stopped creating those a few years ago. If you see a Lil Kinz out in the wild, be sure to pick it up because it’s now a collectible! And sometimes the eStore will release a virtual-only Lil Kinz, like their Easter pets.

Why does Webkinz have expiring account dates?

Hi Isabella,

 

Thanks for your question! I have a two-part answer for you:

 

1) Technically the only accounts that “expire” are Deluxe Membership and Full Membership accounts, but all that means is that if you don’t renew, you become a Free member. Your account and all your items still exist. If you want to become a Full Member for another year, simply adopt another pet (other than the Dog or Cat that Free members have) or if you want to become a Deluxe Member again, head to the eStore to renew!

 

2) By “expire”, do you mean, “Why do accounts become archived?” That’s a different story. If a Webkinz account is left for a year or more without being logged into, then we archive it (for technical reasons, I’m told by our computer-savvy Webkinz World wizards!). If you want to use it again, simply contact our Customer Support team and they’ll revive your archived account. All your items will still be there.

 

 

How do you earn Wish Tokens?

Great question, cutiepie! There are a few ways to find Wish Tokens, which you can save up and deposit in the Wish Factory for an Exclusive item. Here are some ways to earn Tokens: receive them as a special gift, like on Christmas Day; from particular achievements; by adopting a Pet of the Month; by playing the Log Out Carnival games; and as bonus gifts, like on the Wheel of Wishes!
