Farmer’s Market Competition Crops

You may have noticed something different in your docks since the Farmer’s Market was added to Webkinz Next! They’re competition crops, and while I can’t give you full rundown on what they’re for yet, I wanted to give you a few more details.

  • When you harvest a ground crop from the Farmer’s Plot, there’s a chance it will be a Competition crop. (This is the onlyway to get a Competition crop, and they’re on the rare side!)
  • Competition crops are presentable! They’re not for eating — you can decorate your house with them.
  • Competition crops may grow when you put them in your house. They all look the same size in your dock, but if you drag them into your house, you may see them grow!
  • We’ve got a plan for these crops that is sure to be a winner.

This is a little off topic but how many veggies can we plant in our special plot? I am having trouble getting mine in all 3 rows.

    • Sally Webkinz says:

You can fit 21. You may need to turn off Advanced Editing when you add them to the plot to make sure they distribute evenly.

      • Beckinz8 says:

Turning off Advanced Editing did the trick! I love the farmer’s plot and how amazing all the veggies look growing there. Getting bonus veggies sometimes is an extra special treat! I have a question about the new challenge that has popped up in Next. One of the tasks is to drag the Farmer’s Plot into my yard, but mine is already there, busily growing veggies, so how can I get credit for that part? I don’t want to remove everything and have to restart the growing cycle if it is at all possible to avoid that. Thanks in advance for your help!

You may have to empty and replant right now, but I believe they’re working on a fix

          • Zooooooz says:

I successfully removed mine to my dock, then dragged it (still full) into my yard. It didn’t register as a completed task at first, but re-logging did the trick :) Great job, Ganz!

I removed my plot and put it back in and that did not work but I did not lose the veggies that were in it. I guess I will try to empty it tomorrow.

          • Sally Webkinz says:

If you tried that really early on, it wouldn’t have worked. There was a minor fix that made that work implemented, but we still need to find something to fix it so it already sees if you’ve already got it in the ground.

          • Beckinz8 says:

@Zooooooz, I held my breath, closed my eyes, took your suggestion and… it worked! I removed the whole planted plot to my dock, replaced it (so very happy that it was still planted!!), logged out and the challenge was complete. Thank you so very much for your advice!

Sorry if this has been covered already, but how do you know if you are lucky enough to get a competition crop? It will appear under the Dislay/Presentables tab? Like, where your plushies and lamps are?

  3. spootyquackers says:

ok,… they grow which is way cool, but do they go bad too?

  4. Sonari says:

I especially like that I can’t accidentally feed these to my Kinz. And thank you for mentioning that they grow. I got a lettuce and was a little afraid that I was losing my mind! =)

I can’t wait to see what we can do with the Competition Crops we get (in addition to displaying them)! I wish there were a separate tab for the Growable Plants, just to save time finding them in my dock. Not a complaint, just a suggestion (I find the other tabs all very handy and kind of wish there were more tabs for our Classic docks :)

The last couple days there isn’t any newz except about Next. I really fear that Classic is going to be done away with.

    • Sally Webkinz says:

There’s plenty going on in Classic. You can check the event calendar for what’s going on each day. We were posting 90% Classic content before — we’re just evening it out now. Not every change is a sign of doom.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop! I lucked out with a competition onion so far. I didn’t know that if I put it in my room that it would continue to grow. I am intrigued, and will give it a shot. What I am REALLY hoping for is a competition pumpkin. (I am a BIG fan of the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!)

      • gml1939 says:

I share that same feeling of doom.

What about the big change when over half the items stopped working and then half of those were never fixed. I’m sure there are a lot of people still waiting. Some of just can’t give up. Animated items are not cheap.

        • Sally Webkinz says:

Some of the previous functionality was lost in the transition, but the animated items should have been updated to function, even if not in exactly the same way. If your item does not appear in the room, please contact webkinzsupport@ganz.com

hi sally, thanks for your replies to users. i just wanted to point out the one animated item i felt was the coolest of all which no longer works to see if anyone else, or you have the item: the origami building which would open and play music & i think things, maybe butterflies, would come out of it–has been so long is only a memory. but instead of doing its thing, it disappears until clicked on again. thanks. and btw, about next, that was one smooth move to get us to try it (the juice box thing) & now next is the first place i go!! ;) best, k.

      • TRINSTER says:

I’m sorry if I sounded whiney. After fourteen years of playing Webkinz I can’t imagine how sad I’d be if it went away! So thank you for reassuring us!

  7. Demongirl10 says:

I can’t wait to harvest one of these!

  8. mfaull says:

Next sounds so creative! Is it ever coming to Mac?

  9. bocquet says:

Do I plant them in my House ?

  10. beerfeet says:

Will it say it is a competition pumpkin or whatever it is when it is in our dock? Will it sit in a different place than the other veggies we harvest, like in decorations? I don’t want to accidentally sell one. We are looking forward to this unique event.

    • Sally Webkinz says:

Yes, there’s a separate tab for it in your dock and it won’t appear with the regular produce that you can eat. They’re pretty rare, so they won’t get lost in your stack of pumpkins.
