Here’s a little morsel about what we Grey Langurs like to eat.
Grey Langurs are herbivores. That means that we eat plants. A lot of our cousins just eat leaves and buds, but we will also eat pine cones and the needles off pine trees as well as evergreen stems, shoots, roots and seeds. You may think that sounds odd – and painful – but we just love ‘em! We also eat fruits, grass, bamboo, moss and lichen, which are a bit easier to swallow.
But get this – prepare to be grossed out – we also eat spider-webs AND termite mounds! What can I say? We’re just more open-minded about food than some species. It’s all good! (Now maybe you won’t complain next time your mom tells you to eat your broccoli!)
We’re helpful too! Deer and cows in the fields below will often eat the food that we drop from the treetops. Hmmm…. do you think they eat the spiderwebs too?

XD XD :lol: That made me giggle. I wish it tasted like that. There was a big spider web at face level in these woods I hike in sometimes, and I didn’t see it and walked strait into it. It got in my face, mouth, and hair. :( Blegh. It didn’t taste like anything, really. The closest thing I can compare is, it tasted somewhat like a paper towel. :lol: I’m glad the spider wasn’t home. Sorry Ms Spider! I didn’t mean to ruin your house.

i don’t know if they eat the spiders and termites or not. that would be really gross though. ;) i hate bugs!! but they probably don’t since it says they are herbivores. :lol:

Thanks for these facts. Had no idea what the grey langur ate. So no spiders or termites…just their homes..haha

Its kool to learn about them. They dont have much taste in food if they eat spiderwebs, pinecones, and termites. But to each their own. :lol:
