What are Pet Medallions?
Pet Medallions are a new form of currency in Webkinz World. Each Medallion is pet-specific. When you collect enough of a particular Pet Medallion, you can trade them in to adopt that virtual pet – for FREE! There are also special ‘AnyPet’ Medallions, which act like a wild card and can be used toward any pet.
How do you get Pet Medallions?
You can earn Pet Medallions a couple of ways. Look for the red gift box icon in the Arcade to see which games offer Medallions and when you play one of those games, you have a chance of winning a prize which might be a Medallion! You can win up to 10 prizes per day in the Arcade. And you can earn one ‘AnyPet’ Medallion by trading 10 Pet Medallions of any one pet. Look for more ways to earn Pet Medallions in the future!

June 6 – 12, Look for the Floating Medallion!
Between June 6 and 12 you have even more chances to earn Medallions! You can earn one extra Pet Medallion a day when you see the floating Pet Medallion in Webkinz World and click on it!

Where can you find your Pet Medallions?
Pet Medallions don’t appear in your Dock but it’s easy to see how many you’ve collected. Just open your ‘My Pets’ window and you’ll find a new tab called ‘Medallions’. Medallion pets appear here, along with a meter showing how many Medallions you have collected toward each pet, as well as the total number of Medallions required for each. You can click on each pet for information about its PSI and PSF.

How do you adopt a pet using Medallions?
When you’ve earned enough Medallions to adopt a pet, the meter beneath that pet will change to an ‘Adopt’ button. Just click the button and you will be taken to the Adoption Center and complete the adoption process as you would for any Webkinz pet.

Are Pets adopted using Medallions the same as regular Webkinz Pets?
Just like any Webkinz pet, a Medallion pet comes with its own Pet-Specific Item and Pet-Specific Food, and it behaves like any other pet in Webkinz World. It makes Pet Requests and has Happiness, Hunger, and Energy meters that need to be filled to help increase your Family Score. The only difference is that pets purchased using Medallions do not extend your Full Membership.

Which Pets can you adopt using Pet Medallions?
There are currently twelve pets which can be adopted using Pet Medallions, including two brand new pets that can only be adopted using Medallions! Each pet has a unique Medallion value – the rarer the pet, the more Medallions you’ll need. The pets are:

- Cheeky Monkey
- Clydesdale
- Gargowl
- Signature English Spot Bunny

I just played Crafty Canaries and went to Level 10 but didn’t receive any pet medallions. I had read that someone had. Am I missing something? Is there something special you have to do in order to receive one? Thanks for your help!
Hi there! When you play a game and get a high score, there is a chance that you can receive a medallion or another prize. It’s not a guarantee. Congratulations on getting to level 10! :)
I have won medallions but can’t fine them on my dock or anywhere else
Have you tried going to “My Pets” and clicking on the medallions tab? The medallions should have already been added to your collection. (The collection is counted underneath each pet.)
What sounded like an innovative and fun way to be able to adopt new pets by earning these medallions through games most of us, as Webkinz users, play on a regular basis has quickly become a seeming waste of time and effort and a complete disappointment. In the podcast and promotional ads, they say that you can adopt these pets for free “just by playing in Webkinz World” and collecting Pet Medallions. Turns out it isn’t nearly as simple as that…The first sign of this is the less than helpful “hint” posted in the Arcade that reads, “Play these games well for a chance at a prize!” They provide zero information as to what “well” actually means…If there is some magical high score to reach for each of the designated games, then it appears to be purposely unattainable, even if you finish all levels on a game multiple times, like I did with Crafty Canaries and was awarded…ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! So, if the medallions are that rarely awarded, then at this rate, there’s basically no hope of ever even getting close to being able to adopt, especially one of the unique pets they’ve been dangling in front of us (I had my heart set on the Diamond Dragonfly) which, btw, have ridiculously high “prices” set for them. This is nothing but frustrating, Ganz, and seems neither fair nor fun for all those looking forward to this experience. I thought the goal was to actually offer the ability to adopt these pets, not have us all chasing after some elusive, unachievable concept! Please at least give us a reasonable chance at this!!!
Well, they did say that there will be more ways to get these medallions in the future. For now, games and the floaty clicky are the only options, but more possibilities are coming soon. I want the diamond dragonfly too, and also a rainbow googles and several others. :)
This is cool! Gotta question though – When you adopt one of these free pets, does it add a new room to your house?
Umm can anyone help me? I only got one token and I got it from the mobile app but I’m not sure how… When I logged in, the medallion of the blossom fish was on the screen where the daily reward is? Is that how you can get them? Thanks!
I got that too–sometimes they can come through floaty clicky events, like right now, and others can be won by playing marked games and getting a high score–however, there is only a chance that you will receive one, it is not a guarantee. Hope that helps!
I wish you could also buy medalions with kinz cash in the w shop that would be great and people could still play games. what game is for the rainbow google and dragon fly?
I don’t like the idea of turning previously released pets to free ones you can get with tokens. Sorry.

I wish you could get them on the mobile app because it is easier for me to use a stylist then the mouse i play atlantis all the time on tablet?
I earned a medallion from atlantiles on the mobile app; it works even though they don’t have the box symbol. I think most of the mobile app games work for this.
Would you please define “well” for playing the games with the gift boxes. I have played several of the games today and no medallion(s). Is there a certain number goal we need to reach before we get the medallion? The directions are not specific enough. Thanks.
I have same question, it is very confusing with those games. Do you have some score(s) to get them?. I played today several games and got nothing!
I agree, I played Crafty Canaries and finished all the levels, but no gift. I got up to level 24 on Jumbleberry blast, but that didn’t earn a gift. I did get one medallion and one other gift from cash cow so that was nice, but since some of these games take a long time to reach the level of “being played well” it would be nice to have an idea of what we are shooting for.
If you go to the “My Pets” tab, you’ll find that there is a new tab marked “medallions”. If you look there, you will find that your medallion has already been sorted into the appropriate category. They do sometimes show up in your dock to acknowledge that you have received them, but you don’t need to do anything about them because it has already been sorted and put away with your other medallions. The icon in your dock will disappear after you have logged out and back in, but the medallion will stay where it belongs under your medallions tab.
