I think Webkinz needs to make a daily activities slot machine for these Medallions , if you pull the lever down and match 3 alike you win that medallion , we need more new stuff for today activities. Or you could award us one for every 10 consecutive days we log in or even 30 consecutive days . Would give us a few more ways to earn them.

i still haven’t one a single medallion playing in the arcade today….

I reached level 9 in Crafty Canaries and received a blossom fish medallion. This is just going to take a lot of patience, particularly if the medallions are random. I wish that playing a certain game to a specified level would give you a medallion for a specific pet. Then at least you would know where to put your time and energy if you had your heart set on one particular pet. Hopefully, as the program progresses, there will be lots of ways to get medallions.

Ok. Played Crafty Canaries again and finished level 10 and received an English spot bunny medallion. I’m trying to figure out if the medallions are completely random, or if different ones are associated with different things. Post if you figure out any patterns. Or if you are on the Ganz team, you can just let me know if the medallions are just randomly awarded. :)

I won a Cheeky Monkey medallion after completing level 10 of Crafty Canaries. I’m pretty good at that game and it only takes me ten minutes, so I played it again to level ten and did not receive a medal. Same thing happened with Dogbeard’s Gold – won a gargowl medal for reaching 25,000 points but won nothing for reaching 42,000 points. This is going to take much too long to earn the 100 – 200 medallions for a free pet. I’m not spending my summer playing games – I shudder when I think how many hours it will take to earn medallions.

They are completely random. Once you get a good score in a game, you have a chance to win one, or a different prize.

Yes, they did say they would give us more opportunities. And, I’m just thinking it’s going to be like filling up a jar of moonberry jam. It does take forever, but when you do it’s super exciting : )

To everyone saying they wish the pets were cheaper and there were more ways to earn medallions – This idea seems to be in its “alpha stage”, so it’ll most likely be more developed over time, given that the users respond well to it. Same thing happens with video games. A lot of video games are released in their alpha stage, where the game itself is a bit buggy and there isn’t much to do. This allows the public to get a feel for the game itself (and in this case, the concept of earning free pets) as well as letting the developers know what the general response to it is. An overall bad response may lead to Ganz throwing out the idea, but praise and excitement will probably encourage them to further develop the idea and make it easier for people to get pets, as well as making new pets. Patience is a virtue! ***MidnightQueen***

So I love this idea in theory, but when I see how many I need to get a pet, I lose hope that I’ll ever get one. I hope there will be ample opportunity to earn them. Otherwise, it’s a whatever kind of thing for me.

I wish we had more ways of earning pet medallions. The floating pet medallion is a good idea, but it’s difficult to earn them in the arcade.

My thoughts exactly! And how many do you get putting in all the hard work into getting a good score?

      • horsecrazy789 says:

Adding on, How high is is a good score?

      • chindio says:

Excellent point!! You play and play and you may never reach what ever they consider to be a “good” score!! And nothing under 100 madalion! This will take forever and a lot of us will lose interest long before you ever have enough to get a free pet.

I beat level ten on Crafty Canaries and didn’t “randomly” win a prize. Sigh. Alas, most of the games that theoretically award prizes are not games I want to spend my time playing. I do enjoy playing Atlantiles, but it is very hard to get through all the levels. Even then, it’s not a sure bet a medallion will be awarded. Anything worth having is worth working for, but, I must admit, this medallion-collecting thing isn’t what I imagined it would be…

        • Beckinz8 says:

~momno1, were you playing on mobile, or the .com version on the computer? Because I played Crafty Canaries and got to level 9 and received a medallion, then played it again, and finished level 10, and got another medallion. I was playing on the .com version. I’m not very good at a lot of the other games that award the medallions, (Lily Padz 2 I am beyond terrible! LOL) so it looks like I’ll be playing a lot of Crafty Canaries! I like Atlantiles too, but I was much better before they changed it, and I had lots of time to think out my moves, and strategize. I tend to choke under the pressure of a ticking clock!

Supposedly there will be more ways to earn them in the future! This is the first day so just be patient! :)
