That was excellent!! Best trailer I’ve ever seen!! Please do a Star Wars Trailer. Glow sticks for wands! On pixiefaire.com are pictures of simple outfits for your pets for you to do your pets up in with your own ideas of those outfits. It is just a picture resource for you since those outfits will not fit your pets. The dragon is the best!!

Can any one tell me whether this movie is encouraging to young women? If so I’m going to watch it, and I don’t mean the trailer the actual movie. I need some encouragement right now.

I have never seen the movie, but the book is an all time favorite of mine. I remember reading it under the bedsheets with the flashlight long after Mother said, “Lights out”. I believe the book is very encouraging to anyone. Also, a later book, “Jo’s Boys” . This is a very cute little Webkinz movie :-) Congrats.

It’s um…I’m sorry but in 2020, it’s not exactly the best influence for young women. It is what they call a “classic,” but a lot of what it (or at least the original book; I haven’t seen the movie adaptation) are traditional and often outdated values from the 19th century. For example, it kind of discourages women from being strong, independent, and doing typically “masculine” behaviors.

I’m trying to be as nice and PC as possible because this is GanzWorld, so I can’t go in to detail on some of what my dad and I thought when we read it, but I was fairly young (the same age as the youngest sister Amy is at the beginning of the book) and even I found it rather saccharine. Since it has so much staying power over the years, I’m fairly certain there is some benefit you can get from it, but there are probably much better movies you can turn to if you want something encouraging for young women.

Upon watching the trailer, I ascertain that the movie looks like it might be a more modern/progressive take on the original book, and I myself might enjoy it. So, while I’m no authority on the subject, and I’m only guessing from the trailer, I think it’s possible it is a good movie with the things you are looking for.

Yes, Graceagirl, it’s definitely encouraging to young women- I just saw the movie last week, & the book was one of my favorites as a child.
