Polly’s Cake

Hey, it’s Molly and the plans for Polly’s surprise party are going really well! I don’t think she suspects a thing! The only problem is that we couldn’t decide what kind of cake to make. We all want something different. Alex said that girls like flowers so we should have a cake with flowers on it. Way to stereotype, Alex! Stoogles says that he is a traditionalist and that a plain old birthday cake with her name on it is all we need. You know how crafty Roberta can be? Well, she wants to design a cake with Polly’s face on it. Sounds complicated. And Nibbles and I both love cupcakes. Aren’t cupcakes always better than cake?

So we thought the best thing to do would be to go off in pairs and come up with a cake design. Then we could choose our favorite design and make that one. Maybe you could help us choose.

Alex & Sparky

Girls like flowers, right? That’s why Sparky and I wanted to make this neat chocolate cake for Polly. She’s a girl. We even made purple icing by mixing red and blue food coloring. Cool, huh?

Stoogles & Salley

Salley and I decided to do a very simple white cake with pink and blue icing. I think that Polly will really appreciate a good, old fashioned birthday cake.

Roberta & Cowabelle

I wanted to make a cake that really represented Polly. So Cowabelle and I made this really simple design of a panda cake using black and white icing.

Molly & Nibbles

Nibbles and I love cupcakes so we decided to make panda paw print cupcakes! Aren’t they cute? We used different colors of icing for the base and then put a paw print on each one!
