Road trip recipe: Trail Mix

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Between Elwin touring with Kinzville Sings!, Plumpy and Charles enjoying their honeymoon and the Webkinz Van making its rounds, August is the perfect time to make your own snacks to take on the road. Here is a simple snack you can throw together in just a few minutes.

What you need: 

2 cups peanuts

1 cup roasted almonds

1 cup roasted cashews

½ cup pistachios

½ cup chocolate m&ms

½ cup peanut m&ms

½ cup raisins

½ cup dried cranberries

 

What you do:

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Store in an airtight container.

    Yummy! Not exactly the healthiest snack (lots of fat in the cashews and sugar in the candy) but certainly one of the yummiest!

    Other dried fruits are great to use also. Like dried pineapple, apple chips, and i know it’s not a regular fruit but coconut shavings are also good.

    I love trail mix, the best thing about making your own is that you can put in all the things you like and leave out the things you don’t like. This variation sounds pretty good, I think I’ll give it a try.

    i wish trail mix didnt have nuts in it then it could just have dried fruit ad pretzels and m&ms

    I might hate raisins, but I LOVE M&Ms! That means I don’t mind trail mix that much.
