Hi everyone, Steve Webkinz here. In today’s special report, I’m going to take a look at the latest updates for Pet Medallions!
If you don’t know anything about our new Pet Medallion system for adopting pets, you’ll want to first read our introduction to Pet Medallions here.
While we’ve been slowly rolling out sets of pets to collect with medallions, the most recent ones are intended to be the last for the near future. This means there are a total of 24 different pets that you can adopt with Pet Medallions.
Not only do different pets require different amounts of medallions to adopt them, but the chance of getting each medallion has different rarities as well. Here’s a look at each pet’s medallion value and rarity:
Out of the 24 pets, 2 of them (the Rainbow Googles and the Diamond Dragonfly) are exclusive to the Pet Medallion system, which means that it’s the only way that you can adopt them!
There is also an “Any Pet” Pet Medallion that can be collected and used towards any of the 24 pets. When you get one, it is automatically added to the Any Pet Medallion counter on your Pet Medallions screen. You can then add it to a specific pet by selecting that pet in the Medallions tab and then clicking the Any Pet Medallions transfer button in the top left (orange) area of your screen.
If you’ve collected 10 medallions for a pet, you can also trade them for 1 Any Pet Medallion. Just select that pet and then click on the exchange button on the bottom left (blue) area of your screen.
There are now many more ways to collect Pet Medallions than there were when we first launched this feature.
Arcade games marked with a red gift box can award prizes for a “Great Play” (i.e., a specific score threshold). One of the prizes included in those drops are Pet Medallions. All games in the Webkinz mobile app Arcade can award a prize drop.
The “Great Play” score is different for each game. We can’t tell you what those scores are because there is only a chance that you’ll get a prize drop if you hit it, however we have recently increased the odds of getting a prize drop when getting a “Great Score”.
We’ve also added Pet Medallions to the Daily Delivery, so there’s a chance you’ll win one each day that you log into your Webkinz account.
We’ve also added a floating Pet Medallion that you can click on and collect 1 additional medallion per day.
Deluxe Members will now find a Deluxe Pet Medallion Gift Box among their monthly prizes. Inside is a random assortment of rare, uncommon and common Pet Medallions, including a chance at getting an Any Pet Medallion!
We also plan on offering more Pet Medallions as part of other prize pools and special offers in the near future. Keep watching Webkinz Newz for the latest updates!

Are the medallions still floating in Webkinz World? I have not seen them all week. I play the games trying to get a pet medallion but I get them rarely. I do not have very many medallions and I am on Webkinz every day, some days for several hours trying to get pet medallions. I am giving up I will never get the amount you need to get.
You should make a Design Clothes in the Sharecenter. Vote all for me if you want a Design Clothes in the Share Center!
Will Webkinz EVER be able to accept DISCOVER as a payment method?!?!?!?! This just SO unfair, and many of us I’m SURE are missing out on a great deal of opportunities! …PLEASE RECONSIDER!!!!!

The main things I miss about the old Webkinz are Mazin’ Hamsters and any room themes that were retired. Besides missing things that were discontinued or retired, I like the current Webkinz site. I wish there could be a way Webkinz could bring back Mazin’ Hamsters or give away more retired, older items. I wouldn’t mind purchasing packages with old items with estore points even.
I wish they would fix the strength class or at least make Kinzville Academy prizes tradeable, sendable, and sellable. Also, it would be great if the new games they create could award more kinzcash and not be so difficult to play. Out of the gift box games I only can get far in Atlantiles and Crafty Canaries. Sometimes I do good in Cash Cow, Jumbleberry Blast, or Hoppy Little Rocketship. I’m starting to support the pet medallion idea more, though. Even if it takes a year to get a pet. I’ve given up on trying to win them in the arcade, but it’s wonderful to get them as log-in gifts and get the floating medallion each day.
Thank you for saying so very well what many of us are feeling!! I have emailed Ganz about some of these issues and was completely ignored. I have never heard of a company that doesn’t even respond to emails! My girls miss all the old pet and friend interactions. My youngest would hang out with her pet. They would watch TV, do puzzles, color, even “talk”. Now the pet constantly interrupts to go do other things, needs fed, which is costing a small fortune and or annoys the heck out of her. She used to love her pets and there playtime together. Now she leaves them in bed all the time and plays in the arcade. She lost something that was very special to her. Her older sister has all but quit since all the changes that were forced on the players without asking us what we the paying customers would like. She was in tears over losing Dr. Quack and his clinic. Since webkinz X or whatever that was, my kids have all but given up. It’s frustrating for a parent who has spent a small fortune.
Thank you oudoll2. The pet interactions bug us too. They interfere with playing your own game. My brother and me with input from other family created our own little worlds with our beloved characters and the pet constantly making demands is very annoying and the motivation, as in Family Score, to fill hearts is so scarce once you get past 100,000 points, it seems like you are doing it for nothing. My little brother’s favorite thing is challenges, he is all about them. He won’t play games unless it’s for challenges.
I just got to 100,000 points on the Family Score. It took a very long time from the last prize and this prize is a dust collector not good for anything. I might as well never think about the next prize since it is so far away. I need 10 more fish medallions. But I want the cats. When there is something good at the Ganz store my acct will not open up. It does open up if there isn’t a special or freebie. I don’t have the password wrong and I have called about this but it keeps locking me out so I miss the good stuff. I love the challenges too! But some of the games I do not like playing and the good games are not used on the challenges. A lot of money was spent on items that now do not work. They were bought because they were cute moving around and the pets could interact with them like the gum ball machine and the roller coasters, now they do nothing. Very sad and disappointing. The pet interruptions are ignored because I do my webkinz daily in a certain order not on my pets demands. Sometimes if something is not broken then it doesn’t need to be fixed. And all the broken things should be fixed. We do know that Webkinz does do a lot for us and we do love Webkinz or we wouldn’t play. It would be real nice to have a lot of broken things fixed before the next anniversary!! I liked Dr Quack too! It was very sad to see him go because I wasn’t crazy about his replacements, he had a great personality that I’m sure everyone liked. I also think Sally Mandie and Mike also have great personalities and are in a great job for their personalities. I do hope school is fixed because if no one can get past 4th and 5th grade how will we ever graduate our pets. It makes a bad lesson for the smaller children. The hard part of school should be in the higher grades not in grades 4 and 5. I have pets that have not passed a class in 2 or 3 years, everything is done but those 2 subjects so they will never graduate. I have read that other people were very mad about it. Maybe all these things can be fixed and they should be. We are routing for the team that makes Webkinz run because we don’t want Webkinz to be ignored because things don’t work. Boy someone wound me up but this can be helpful for the team that runs Webkinz!! I hope Fathers Day is a good one for every one!!

Thank you! Thank you! You put into words, what I have been feeling for a long long time! I just wish that Ganz would LISTEN to us!!! But, I get the feeling that they really REALLY don’t care about these issues. Maybe…just maybe…there will be one person who will listen and find a way to make these changes happen. I want my time on Webkinz to be a fun time, not a depressing chore. Thank you for saying what we all are feeling here! I hope Ganz will listen to you!
