Hey guys… Michael Webkinz here, reporting for Webkinz Newz. I am excited to show you the concept drawings for the first half of the Haunted Castle theme! Our new Halloween room theme will be available at the W-Shop (for KinzCash), starting October 1st.
Here’s a look at the original concept drawing players could vote for when we first announced that we would be releasing a new Halloween theme. The idea here would be that you would be able to see glowing red eyes through the helmet:
Here’s a look at the dining room table that would be included in this theme. What makes this item spooky is the fact that you never know when the candles will mysteriously blow out, seemly on their own:
Here’s a look at the dining chair that matches the table. I really like the fact that cobwebs have been added to each item:
Next up is the Haunted Castle column. This one will look very similar to the original Medieval Column however, it will appear cracked and crumbled in places:
I really like the concept drawing for the Haunted Castle flooring. The stone acts as a perfect boarder for the worn out floorboards:
Finally, here’s a look at a spooky cellar. This item will be able to be placed indoors or out and features a (hopefully) friendly little ghost who can be seen inside:

These items exceeded my expectations! It’s the extra attention to detail that makes them so interesting and brings them to life (glowing red eyes, candles that blow out). I’m really excited to see what comes next and I can’t wait to put together my new room! I already know that I’ll need to buy an extra creepy cellar to add to my spooky forest… love that cute “peeping” ghost! Thank you Ganz!!

Love these! Though I don’t know how I feel about cobwebs on EVERYTHING. Sure, it has a place in any haunted castle; but maybe not everything? It would be awesome if the chairs could issue a puff of dust when your pet sits down! Love the candles randomly blowing out–will they relight, too? I do like the look of disrepair, can’t wait to see the final versions of these. Thanks for showing us these, Michael.

It’s great to see all of this great work in progress! I’ll have to really put some thought into name suggestions. I don’t know what the artists have in store for the next batch of concept drawings, but here is an ambitious idea – create a mirror where you see something normal reflected when you click on it, and then something a little spooky appears next to it or changes the appearance of the first image. I’m sure there’s no way to see a reflection of your own pet, (that’s probably a programming nightmare!), but something like a cross between the antique fashion mirror (not sure where it was from – maybe the wish factory) and the magical moving pictures that are part of the wizard academy theme. Good luck design team!!
