It’s Throwback Thursday! This week we have a special throwback from our Creative Director, Karl:
Hey Webkinz Fans. Here’s a total blast from the past that I’m sure will be new to most of you. It’s a screen from Leaf Leaf one of the very first games in Webkinz World. You’ll recognize it as a Match 3 game, only with leaves. What happened to the game? Well it was awful. Horrible. The graphics, sound, animation – all of it. No bonuses. No power ups. No trophy. The title screen even showed a human hand in it. Before we even launched Webkinz back in 2005 I had already decided that I wanted to replace it. To show the team what a game could be, I designed Goober’s Lab, which remains popular to this day!
Leaf Leaf was only “live” for a couple of months, so few people ever saw it. I think we can all agree that we’ve come very, very far in the quality of our arcade games. Can this even compare to the art in Goober’s or Smoothie Moves?

i HATE goobers lab it is ugly and wered! this sounds like best game ever! i would give anything to play it! please bring it back. anyone with me on this??????
Has anyone considered bringing it back for a short time, like during Fall Fest…when the autumn leaves are falling all around Kinzville?

Good idea Jesusismylord! Love it. I think they should do that on the 10th webkinz day next year. That would be cool! Then on the 15th they could do it again! Who likes my idea? And, really off topic, but who has the a deluxe membership and is willing to send me the super fan desk, chair, the wardrobe, or couch?

I agree that this game should definitely have been replaced by Goober’s Lab. It is one of my favorite games I earned a trophy in it a few days ago. I think Webkinz has definitely gotten a lot better with all of its aspects. Webkinz is my favorite game I play other games too but I keep coming back to Webkinz.
Leaf leaf looks a lot more fun than Goober’s Lab.
