Ultimate Collector Items!

When an item is retired, that means it is no longer available unless you can find another player willing to trade it.

Some of the oldest retired items were originally supposed to be “toys” but looked more like clothing, like the Baseball Hat, Figure Skates, Hockey Skates and the Toy Tool Belt. These items could be placed in a room, but weren’t at all interactive. Once pet clothing was added to the world, these “toys” were retired to prevent any confusion.

One of the first clothing items to be retired were the WZ Jeans, which were given out for a special promotion back in 2006.

Now they have earned the distinction of being part of the ultimate Webkinz collector items!

You should do a Mega challenge for collectors to get these items

    • lolgal1968 says:

no way! that would be cheap! these items shouldn’t be like that! its just not fair for the others!

      • pilarh says:

        Totally agree,

      • roachiesmom1 says:

They certainly should be made available again. Webkinz world items are virtual items. The idea of them having “collector” value like this, and astronomical trade values is absurd and utterly ridiculous.

Trading and haveing things with value is the reason people play webkinz for more then a year or two. I think they should retire more things so in two years from now i will have more things of value and your kid will grow out of webkinz and i will still be here. also when they gave them out on the wheel no one wanted them we wanted kinzcash

          • slugbug2000 says:

Not everyone plays Webkinz only for trading. I have been a member since 2009, and most days do not trade. I just like having the things and clothing because they are fun…so I say yes! make these old retired items available again. After all, they bring back all of the other exclusive items offered in recent contests or things for Deluxe are offered sometimes to nonDeluxe members.

Mega Challenge? They should do something but WAY more difficult to get…Ganz wants things to stay at their good value, and (I hope) for all people to enjoy items….but then there was when they deluxed “Everything” and made nothing fun =-(

Good Idea making it hard, I for one would love hard stuff over easy, simple stuff.

          • slugbug2000 says:

I agree. it would have to be a hard challenge and maybe the prizes could be random so not everyone gets the same stuff…still would maintain the values…a little bit. :P

Working for items is way more fun than just getting them for free. Plus it would confuse people in the trading system and will make scams more likely.

  2. Arborgrace says:

Why not offer some of these again Ganz – so that more members can enjoy these. Maybe for part of our deluxe anniversary special events

  3. KoalasRock2000 says:

I don’t have any of these. Can’t find anyone who is willing to trade for the WZ jeans. :(

  4. oreocookieboy says:

  5. mishpachatmoore says:

  6. Doglove says:

  7. bratzdoll8 says:

  8. polaroid3 says:

It would be so cool if Ganz could bring back the retro items as they show them~ even if only for a month or season! I would love to have a pair of the WZ Jeans!!!! PLEASE, Ganz?

      • Webkinz_Love122 says:

That would be really nice, but if Ganz did that, these items would lose their value. I mean, I would love another pair of WZ Jeans (I have a single pair.), but I would hate for these items to lose their value, being some of the rarest items to look for. It’s really worth it when you find a pair! So I suggest to keep looking for a very generous person to trade with!

      me too ditto

Thanks for this article – nice to know why they were retired and nice to see the pictures and retirement years. I didn’t start Webkinz until late 2007 so I missed out on these wonderful items. It is interesting to see the things that become so sought after by collectors. Now if only I were brave enough to tackle the trading room – I am just so slow and don’t really know what I am doing in there. LOL

    • GramaDeb says:

I’m in the same boat that you are. I have lots of items to trade but I’m slow and the other trader just leaves :(

    • InfernapeFire says:

Me too! Everyone knows exactly what they want, and they trade a lighting speed! And i’m just like, “Hi! show me cool items!”

      • pingpongkitties says:

LOL Yeah, I have not had good luck with trading – I’ve missed out on some nice things because I take too long trying to think of something I have that is comparable to what they are offering and then the green face/red face thingy gets me – so yeah, I don’t think I am made for trading. But good luck to the two of you and everyone else out there for some awesome trading!

        • JaneOfAllTrades says:

same here. I don’t like how when you’re trading and you take an item down, it takes you back to the beginning of your dock. then if you have a lot of, let’s say clothing for example, you have to search through until you get back to where you were.

          • Cambrimbrim says:

Im a lot different. I started Webkinz in 2005. When all the fun began. I’ve been trading almost every day since that day I started . I trade super fast and got WZ jeans before they retired. I still remember that very day. I used to buy everything as soon as those ice skates retired, because i knew if those retired, obviously, other thing would eventually retire, so… I was kind of a smart shopper. Im kinda like the one where if you have what I need, cya later.. I feel like it’s a waste of time to be shown items you have already, especicially since i started in 2005. I was a collector so I have a lot of items. Nice to hear this info Ganz I have plenty of Ultimate Webkinz Collector Items! ~Cam~

I like to trade. Add me erl2009. If I am ever on with you lets trade. I’ll wait.

        • cassandra2222 says:

I am so not cut out for trading, the same thing happens to me or I get ripped off by way to savvy kids lol

    • DworkinBarimen says:

I don’t use the trading rooms at all… except when I want to send items from one of my accounts to another without using KinzPost. You can trade between multiple accounts if you use different browsers. But most of my trades are discussed elsewhere and we KinzPost items to each other. The majority of my trades are with other adult players, so it tends to go a little more deliberately, less impulsively. You don’t have to worry about being sent to the beginning of your dock when posting gifts.

      • pingpongkitties says:

Thanks for this information! Sounds like you have a much better way of trading without all of the stress as long as everyone is trustworthy. I hope to one day get organized and find a way to share some of the goodies I have been hoarding and get some cool stuff I don’t have in return. Thanks again!
