Update on the Recent “Please Wait” Issue

Recently we’ve received numerous reports of long “Please Wait” cycles happening in Webkinz World. We have discovered the root cause of this issue and want to give an update on it.

 

Over the last few months we have been making numerous changes behind the scenes to improve service performance and reliability. We’ve already seen the benefits of this when over the holidays a major outage hit Ganz, but didn’t affect Webkinz.com.

 

A change last week resulted in players seeing a cycle of the message “Please Wait” appearing and disappearing for an extended length of time. It would pass, but could often take a long time.

 

What was happening is your Friends List was being converted to our new system. For players with only a few friends, it might not even have been noticed. But if you had a full 500 friends, you were in for a wait.

 

The good news is that this will only ever happen once. Once converted, your account is good to go.

 

That said, we were not properly prepared for the impact of this change and apologize for the delays this caused.

 

As a token of our appreciation for your patience, we’ve created a community feature code for all of you. This code awards the S’More Sweater and Scarf and can be redeemed once per account until March 31, 2018.

    I’m still having an issue with Webkinz’s speed! after about a few minutes it starts to freeze, and while it runs it lags very much. Please help… especially since i have lots of rooms and pets.

    I’m having trouble. Still. Like, you know how your phone goes “Yoo-Hoo!” Every time someone turns their phone on? Well, sometimes it just keeps going and going and going and I can’t play webkinz. I have to log out when it does that, and it’s really getting me mad!

    The “Please Wait” issue is getting worse. I haven’t been able to get in the Kinzville Park for two days – the screen is there, but the park sign is blank. Arcade games are glitchy, Kinzville Academy is jerky, gaining access to any Clubhouse room, the Tournament Arena, and the Stadium is unreliable. Even completing the daily activities requires constant logging in and out. As a deluxe player, I “pay to play” and expect better. As an adult player, I realize that there is much going on behind the scenes to prepare Webkinz for 2020, but my patience is wearing thin. I thank you for the free code to the sweater that is an old (and recolored) item, but it’s not enough, just bread and circuses, if you know what I mean. Children, however, just see that the game is “broken” and won’t play anymore. I’m afraid you will lose many players. I appreciate the new challenges and prizes very much, but please, I would like to do more than just collect the most current code or prize. Thank you.

      I agree with all your concerns as I am also an adult and am Deluxe. I to often get very angry with the same old problems keep happening all the time and may work 1 day then back to the same problems. My husband keeps seeing me get so upset that he tells me to just stop playing. He says it is for kids. Then I have to tell him about the people I have met online and how great they are. I don’t want to give up my deluxe account when it comes up in July!1 I hope if I see enough things made right I may stay. I really don’t see things get better soon!!!! Sorry for expressing my thoughts. I hope I didn’t hurt the feelings of my wonderful friends!!!!!

    Dear Sally Ganz, I know i have left a couple comments here already but I hope you can reply to this message. We have 5 different accounts in our house and all with different amounts of friends on our friends list. None of them are even close to the 500 you used in your example in fact probably not even 100. That said all accounts are still getting the “please wait”. The most frustrating is the locking up after a short time playing a game. Just trying to play home before dark to get the trophy we have to log out and back in again several times because the program locks up, We just tried to play crafty canaries and the program locks up after the third level, Sitting and waiting during a game doesn’t work, Not much fun for the kids, Can you at least give us some idea of when this is going to be fixed? Thank you
