Updated User Agreement

The Webkinz World User Agreement has been updated. Some of these updates include the changes first announced with this special report published on March 2, 2019.

Please take a moment to review the changes by visiting Webkinz.com and clicking on Privacy & More in the top right corner. Please note the following:

As reported earlier, Webkinz World accounts are no longer being archived. Accounts that have purchased pets, in-game currency or Deluxe memberships may be deleted after 24 months of inactivity. Accounts with no paid activity may be deleted after six months of inactivity.

Players with archived accounts will have until September 30, 2019 to retrieve them. As of October 1, 2019, all remaining accounts in the archive will be deleted. As a result, the usernames associated to these accounts will be available once again to register as new accounts.

The User Agreement now also explicitly forbids the sale or trade of any and all virtual items, with the exception of the trading of items for items through the in-game system. Virtual items may not be sold for cash, traded for eStore points, or traded for any equivalent service or consideration. Accounts violating these terms may be permanently banned.

Additional changes to the User Agreement can be reviewed directly. Please read our User Agreement regularly, as our Service is continually evolving.

oh my! I have 7 accounts that are currently “free” . When does this officially take place? I really do NOT want to lose the pets I have there. Cheri

Archiving was removed in March. If those accounts were always only free (not other pets adopted, no eStore points purchased, no Deluxe), then you must log in to them regularly. They may be deleted after 6 months of inactivity. If you have adopted pets, purchased eStore points or purchase Deluxe, they may be deleted after 2 years of inactivity. If you log in to your accounts regularly, you have nothing to worry about.

Thank you for the warning! That’s 5 months and it would be sad to lose accounts because we set them aside and forgot that we were supposed to log in. This gives us a little leeway to get in there and spend some time with our neglected webbies :(

Wait, so we can no longer trade items on social media or Webkinz blogs? That’s going to devastate many Webkinz blogs. :(

If the account of someone who is on your friends list is deleted, will their username be deleted from your friends list? I would assume that it would have to be if you are going to be making the username available to someone else.

I hope so and that way when you try to send them gifts by post it shouldn’t allow it to go through. That way the sender doesn’t lose special gifts they’re trying to send to their friends :)

Okay, this makes me a little nervous. So what does it mean to “retrieve” our accounts? Does it mean to just log in?

    • Sally Webkinz says:

If you have an archived account, that means you have not logged into for roughly 2 years at this point. To retrieve it, you would need to log in,and wait for it to be unarchived the next day. If you’ve been logging into your accounts, they are not archived and this does not apply to you.

The User Agreement now also explicitly forbids the sale or trade of any and all virtual items, Does this mean we cannot sell items in our dock back to the W shop?

    • Sally Webkinz says:

This refers to the selling or trading of items for real money or services worth real money. Selling at the W Shop is an in-game function. KinzCash is not equivalent to real money.

  6. momganzworld1 says:

what does no paid activity mean? in the part about being deleted after 6 months.

    • Sally Webkinz says:

If you have not adopted a purchased pet, purchased eStore points or purchased Deluxe membership for an account. If your only activity was to create an account with a free pet and no other activity.

  7. woosieboo says:

Could you please clarify virtual items. If you win something on the Wheel of Wow, you can’t sell it??? Or gift it to another player??? Thank you.

    • Sally Webkinz says:

Sending gifts through KinzPost is fine, selling it to the W Shop is fine. Selling it for real money is not allowed. Trading for something worth real money is not allowed.
