Disappointed but not surprised to see Ganz changing the rules at the last minute.
I went through and counted over 60 beautiful entries. I find it hard to believe that only five of those 60 are worthy of even being considered. Your message to the other 55 designers is essentially, “you were so bad, we had to change the rules to avoid naming you as a finalist.” This is certainly the last time I’ll be entering a design contest.

I really appreciate you saying this. As an entry not selected as a finalist, but the one with the highest overall rating as I am typing this, it is frustrating and disappointing to hear Ganz say that there were not enough designs. I do think that my theme was probably more suited as an eStore theme, but I just wanted to try to see some of my ideas come to life in Webkinz (even if I did not win since Ganz has been using other finalists as mini themes for collections). Thank you for your kind words and congratulations to the finalists!
Also I just went back and saw your entry as well. I really like your idea with having a Somewhere Over the Rainbow Christmas tree! Thank you for your hard work for this contest too :)

I would have submitted a theme, but I didn’t really want a code for a pet we got for free less than 12 months ago. I might save my theme for another year, but it just wasn’t worth the effort for a double of a pet I already have.
Hm. Interesting reason for choosing not to enter a contest! Creativity needs no reward.
I really, truly think that the Gingerbread Cat being offered as prize for the winner affected the participation for this contest. It’s available as a medallion pet AND these medallions can be earned consistently throughout December. Offering a pet that is essentially free as a prize is disheartening! I don’t like having doubles of pets, so I didn’t try making a submission. Pets that are more difficult to get would incentivize more players to participate.
For me, the prize is having your winning entry featured as the Webkinz 2026 Holiday Theme! Any added gifts, no matter how small, are welcome!
