Prepping for the Trip
By Salley Cat This is it! It’s only a couple of weeks until we go on our end of year trip to the Big City! I’m so excited! Unfortunately boys and girls can’t share a room so I won’t be able to bunk with my best bud, Stoogles, but that’s okay. I think I am going to share a room with Molly, which will be awesome! Ever since her birthday party Purr-cilla and I have been getting along okay so we decided to have a meeting with Ms. Cowoline to finalize some of the details. We are going to see a musical and going to check out this really cool sculpture garden at the museum. And we haven’t completely decided where we’re having dinner on our second night there. We are checking out reviews of local restaurants. I’m still pushing for the famous seafood restaurant while Purr-cilla – despite her attitude adjustment – is still resisting. But other than a few little details, it’s all coming together!
Kinzville Sings! Roberta Auditions
       Hi. It’s Molly. I’m sure you probably all heard all about how terribly I did at my Kinzville Sings auditions last week. It was so humiliating! Of course Cowabelle totally rocked it and – believe it or not – even Ms. Birdy was amazing! Ms. Birdy!!! So today we all went to watch Roberta’s audition and – big surprise – she sang really well. Now don’t get me wrong – I am really happy for Roberta. I wanted her to do well. But now I’m thinking that it wasn’t fair that I had my audition on the very first day. There was a lot of pressure that day. I’m sure that if I had more time to prepare, and see how all the other auditions were going, I would have done much better. In fact, I think I deserve another chance. Somehow I need to get another audition. There must be a way! Why should I be the only one left behind when all my friends hit it big?
Hailey and Elwin Redo the Concession Stand
Hi readers! Well, Hailey’s and my redesign of the Henrietta Hippo Theatre is coming along really well. The producers of Kinzville Sings seem to be really impressed with the changes. Our latest project involved redesigning the concession stand. The previous concession stand is okay, but a bit bland. The Bloomin’ Room wallpaper is cute, but the black and white tile floor and the Chrome-edged Square Tables were more fitting in a cafeteria than a high-end theatre. And there was too much pink going on if you ask me. I know they were just trying to pick up the accent color in the wallpaper but it wasn’t that really welcoming to all the theatre-goers.            Hailey and I thought that the Movie Magic theme fit perfectly with the existing concession stand (it IS a part of the same theme after all) and the deep rich colors were more elegant and in keeping with the rich atmosphere we were trying to evoke. Miss Daisy’s Assignment
       You will not believe this! It’s almost a whole week into June and our teacher, Miss Daisy, gives us this big geography project today! We have to write about how the warmer weather of summer affects the water levels in the various regions of Webkinz World. Um, hello? Doesn’t she understand how this is supposed to work? June is supposed to be a breeze – we just hang out until the end of the school year. Nobody actually expects to do any work! Cowabelle and Roberta are actually all excited about it! What is wrong with them? They were chatting about how much fun it’s going to be and trying to decide which region of Kinzville they will cover. Now I really cannot wait until the summer holidays when I am planning to do NOTHING! (Other than some awesome fun in the sun, that is!) This is so not cool, Miss Daisy. So not cool.
Hailey and Elwin Redo the Theater Lobby
Hi readers! I guess you’ve probably heard by now that there is a pretty important event coming to town. The popular talent show, Kinzville Sings, is holding auditions at the Henrietta Hippo Theater. This is a really big deal and so the owners of the theater want to showcase their venue in the best possible light. After taking a long hard look at every room in the theater, they decided that it would really need an overhaul before it was featured on TV. That’s where we come in. Elwin and I have been commissioned to redesign the theater. We started with the lobby. The existing lobby has beautiful marble Town Hall flooring, but the Wizard Wallpaper could stand to be updated. And those counters don’t really belong in the box office of a high end theatre. We liked the leather couches though and figured we could recycle those, but just one doorway for all those people going in and out of the auditorium? Isn’t that a fire hazard? Here is the ‘after’. Auditions Day 2: A Surprising Voice
Hi everyone! It’s me, Cowabelle. I am pretty pumped because my audition at Kinzville Sings went really well yesterday, but today I went over to catch day 2 of the auditions and it seems like I might have some surprising competition. The auditions were going pretty well. There were some good singers and some not so good, but then Ms. Birdy’s name was called. Roberta came with me and when we heard that Ms. Birdy was auditioning we were pretty shocked. She’s not exactly your typical rock star, you know? So she comes out on stage and she kind of stumbles a bit and seems pretty nervous. The judges were being super nice to her because, really, she’s just a sweet lady and nobody was expecting too much. We all just wanted her to get through it without embarrassing herself. But then the music started and Ms. Birdy started singing and everyone just gasped! Her voice was angelic! First Day of Auditions
         Roberta here with some good news and some bad news. So today was the first day of the auditions for Kinzville Sings. A couple of our friends were auditioning so we all went out to the auditions to watch and give them our support. Cowabelle was one of the first to get called up. I was kind of worried about her because she wants this so badly I thought she might get nervous and mess up. But Cowabelle loves performing and I guess she doesn’t let the butterflies get to her because she got up on that stage and hit a home run. She looked confident and she didn’t hit a single wrong note. I was so proud of her. But then there’s the bad news. Because not too long after Cowabelle performed, Molly was called up on stage. Molly is an okay singer too but she hasn’t done as much performing as Cowabelle and I don’t know if she just got really nervous up there in front of everybody but, well, let’s just say it was not good. Counting Down the Days
Hey, it’s Sparky and I cannot believe it’s FINALLY June! Only a few more weeks to summer vacation! I cannot wait to kick back and hang out with my friends this summer! We are going to go swimming and hiking and hang out in the Arcade. Plus, everyone knows that the last month of school is a breeze anyway so it’s practically like I’m already on vacation! I’m sure we’ll all spend so much time planning for our big end of year trip that we’ll hardly have any school work at all. Yeah, life sure is sweet right now. I love summer vacation!
Everything’s Coming Up Roses!
Hi, it’s me, Roberta. Today my mom brought home this cute baby name book. She really liked the name Reid (my idea!) for a boy, but she wasn’t crazy about any of the girl names I came up with. We started looking through the book and I saw the name Rosebud. I am named Roberta after my dad, Robert, but my mom’s name is Rosemary and I thought – what if we had Robert and Roberta and Rosemary and Rosebud? Pretty cute, huh? And guess what? My mom really liked that idea. She said that we could call the baby Rose for short. Isn’t that cute? I’m so excited! Soon I’m going to be a big sister and our school trip to the Big City is just around the corner. It’s going to be so much fun seeing all the sights and staying in a hotel with my friends! And after that school’s out for summer! Is June going to be an awesome month or what?
A Surprise for Nibbles
       Nibbles here. What a week! First I find out they are holding auditions for ‘Kinzville Sings’. The place is going crazy with ‘Kinzville Sings’ fever! Cowabelle can’t seem to talk about anything else. Then today Alex called me and asked me to come and meet him at the Arcade. He is kind of sick of all the ‘Kinzville Sings’ talk so I figured he just wanted to hang out for a bit and get away from it all. He said that he had a special surprise for me. I couldn’t really think what it could be. I thought maybe he wanted to show me the new game, Leapin’ Llamas, since I hadn’t tried it yet and he said it was really fun. So I headed over to the Arcade to hang with Alex. We played a few games (he was right – Leapin’ Llamas IS fun!) and then he looked at the clock and suddenly started hurrying me to go for a snack in the Arcade cafeteria. An Emerald Room for an Emerald Lab
   Elwin here! May’s Birthstone is the Emerald and so Hailey and I wanted to celebrate the Birthstone Pet, the Emerald Lab, by creating this emerald-inspired room. We started with the Guildwood Hall wallpaper and the Fruitland flooring for a regal green feel. Since emeralds are so elegant, we want to capture their elegance with some fancy touches. We thought the Romeo & Juliet Balcony would make a great focal point in one corner, while an Ancient Ionic Column graces another corner. A Descendants of the Dragon sculpture added a hit of drama, and a Grand Empire Chest and Wooden Grandfather clock were classic pieces to set off the deep emerald tones. We used furniture from the Bloomin’ Garden theme and created a music niche in the corner with a Diamond Piano. The Dignified Drape Windows set off the green beautifully with their deep red shades. Here’s to the Emerald Lab!
Polly’s Party
Hey, it’s me, Polly. I don’t usually tell people this, but did you know that today is my birthday? I don’t really make a big fuss about it because I feel kind of shy when I’m the center of attention so I’ve always kept my birthday a secret. But a little while ago my mom let it slip to Molly. At first I was really worried that she was going to try and throw some party for me, but then I saw her earlier today and she didn’t even wish me a happy birthday! Suddenly I started thinking that maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing to have people know about your birthday because I really thought that Molly would remember and when she didn’t I almost felt like I was going to cry. But then guess what? Roberta called me and said that I had to come over to her new house because she wanted me to help her decide which craft room design she should go with (Hailey and Elwin have been decorating her house).
