Sparky’s Good Luck
You guys will never, ever, ever believe what happened to me today. Two crazy things. Thing 1: Stoogles said felt awful that I had been having such bad luck and that he wanted to help. He gave me a stone that he said has been passed down for generations of Googles. He said it was incredibly lucky. Personally, I thought it pretty much looked like any other gray stone that you’d find on the ground. It really, really, really didn’t seem special at all. The other ‘Kinz said that Stoogles knew what he was talking about, and that even though it LOOKED completely plain, it wasn’t. And I really didn’t believe them at all. Until… Thing 2: I arrived home and found a BRAND NEW SKATEBOARD on my porch! I couldn’t believe it! I jumped up and down and screamed so loudly that my mom came outside to find out what was up. I thanked her over and over for the skateboard, but she said she didn’t get it for me. I asked if my dad or Uncle Arte did, and it turns out…they didn’t. So you know what … Read more
Paint Dot Spring Cards
So guess which rabbit got the pleasure of babysitting the, ahem, enthusiastic Millie Pig today? Me (Roberta)! Fortunately, Millie totally loves me – so she never gives me the same kind of trouble that she gives Molly. Millie just wanted to make crafts all afternoon, so it was fun for both of us. One of the best crafts? Q-tip blossom cards. Check them out! How did we do it? Easy! Here’s what you need: Acrylic paint in a variety of colors, Q-tips, cardstock folded like a card What we did: I poured the paint into shallow dishes. I showed Millie how to dip the Q-tip into the paint, and dab it onto the card. Continue dabbing to make a blossom. Don’t be afraid to layer colors! When your blossoms are done, let the paint dry. Draw on stems and maybe a vase. We made the cards for Mother’s Day (Millie likes to give cards to her grandmothers on that day as well, so she made three). It was a ton of fun!
Is Sparky’s luck about to change?
You know how bad my luck has been lately, right? Well, it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Today at school Salley told me that Stoogles really needed to talk to me about something. So I went and met him in the park and he was acting very strangely. He was holding something behind his back and then he gave me this long-winded speech about how Googles carry some special magic. I’m just thinking ‘yeah right, dude.’ Anyway, after this big long preamble he holds out his hand to give me… Wait for it… A stone. Or rather, a magic stone. Oka-ay. He said that it was a lucky stone and that it would help me beat this streak of bad luck I’ve been having lately. Seriously. A stone. So I was all, like, ‘Uh hey – that’s great, Stoo! Thanks!’ And meanwhile I’m just thinking, ‘A lucky stone. Uh huh.’ Long story short: I don’t forsee any end to this unlucky streak any time soon.
Millie’s Birthday Party
Mom and I sat down together today and talked about Millie’s upcoming birthday party. Millie is SUPER excited and has a ton of ideas. She handed me a list yesterday. This is what it said: Millie’s Birthday Ideas 1. Join the circus 2. Visit the jungle 3. Go underwater 4. Princess ballerina 5. Do a treasure hunt 6. Be in a magic show Some of these ideas are, how shall I put it? Ridiculous! I tried explaining to Millie that we can’t go to the jungle for her birthday. We also can’t have a party underwater. She wasn’t too pleased to hear that, but Mom agreed. Mom said that she and I would talk about Millie’s list and figure out something that WOULD work. Millie stomped off and slammed the door to her room. After a long discussion, Mom and I decided that we’d do a princess treasure hunt birthday party. We’d have the guests dress up like princesses, and then tell them to hunt for their treasure (which would be hidden all over the house and yard). We’d do a fancy princess cake, and give out treat bags full … Read more

Nibbles’ News
Dear Diary, You’ll never believe what happened today! My sister Plumpy chose me as a bridesmaid! I’m still in shock! Not only do I get to wear a GORGEOUS dress, but I also get to stand next to Plumpy when she gets married! The other bridesmaids are Ruby (our cousin) and Tabby (Plumpy’s really good friend). Plumpy’s best friend is Wiggles, and she wanted a super-special job for him. So he’s her POH (Pig Of Honor). I’m actually getting a little bit excited about the wedding! What color of dress will I get? What kind of flowers will I hold? Eek! I can’t wait to find out! Love, Nibbles
Craft: Big Watercolor Flowers
It might not be springtime quite yet, but I can’t help but make a few pretty flowers to decorate my room! Here’s how to make some of your own! What you need: Flower-shaped coffee filters (the basket kind), watercolor paint, Q-tips or paintbrush, water, cardboard (for laying the flowers out so they can dry), pipe cleaners, beads What you do: 1. Get the watercolor paints nice and wet – add lots of water. 2. Use the Q-tip or paintbrush to dab the colors onto the coffee filters. The colors will run together and be gorgeous! 3. Let the coffee filter flowers dry. 4. When the flowers are dry, poke a hole through the center and put a bead on one end to secure it in place. Twist the filter around the bead so it looks like a flower. You can put more than one filter together for a fluffier flower. 5. Put another bead onto the pipe cleaner (it will be below the flower) to keep the blossom in place. 6. Make a whole bunch and decorate your room!
Bad Luck?
Dear Diary, Do you believe in bad luck? I don’t think I do – but my friend Sparky does. He says he’s been having the worst luck ever. He broke his skateboard, skinned his paws, lost his handheld game, and flunked a test. OK, so that sounds pretty bad. But is it because of bad luck? I don’t know. His skateboard needed fixing and he kept putting it off. He’s always misplacing things…and he didn’t study for the test, so what did he think would happen? Anyway, he was really bummed at today’s ‘Kinz meeting…so much so that after he left, my friends and I discussed a way to make him feel better. Now, it does involve a little bit of trickery…but sometimes that’s OK, right? Stoogles decided that he’d tell Sparky that he’s giving him a lucky rock. The rock isn’t lucky at all, of course. It’s just a nice, shiny gray rock that Stoogles found one day. But as Roberta said, “if Sparky BELIEVES it’s lucky, maybe he’ll start to FEEL luckier…and less sad.”And she’s got a good point. So we’re going to give him the … Read more
Big City Here We Come!
I am so pumped! It’s me, Polly, btw! My mom and dad just told Amanda and me some big news – we are going to the Big City for Spring Break! Which would be awesome enough (I used to live in the Big City and it is WAY cool) but get this: they said that we could each invite a friend. Oh my gosh! This is going to be so awesome. Taking one of my friends around the city and showing them all the cool sights? What could be more fun than that? Um, hello? Nothing, that is what. The only thing was that it was kind of a tough choice, deciding which friend to invite. I mean, all of the ‘Kinz are so cool, right? Obviously I wasn’t going to invite one of the boys, so that leaves out Sparky, Alex and Stoogles. In the end I chose Molly to come with me. I just know that she is going to love it, and she kind of could use a break from Millie to be perfectly honest. I love Millie, but little kids can sure be a handful sometimes. When I called Molly … Read more
Sparky’s Bad Luck
Hey everyone, Sparky here. Have you ever had the WORST luck of your life? Like, everything seems to be going wrong? That’s what’s happening to me lately. Well, yesterday and today anyway. Yesterday, I was visiting my buddy Stoogles. I was skateboarding home from his place when I hit a rock on the road. Not only did I totally wipe out and skin my paws, I also managed to break my skateboard! The wheel fell off and it got all scraped up. My dad said it looks like the metal part is too bent to put the wheel back on. So that’s just great. Then today, I went to school (late, because I slept through my alarm) and then realized I forgot to study for my geography test. Needless to say, I ended up with a big fat F. I went home with a note from my teacher (my parents have to sign it. Wonderful.) and went right to my room. I was planning on playing with my handheld video game for awhile – until I realized: it’s missing! Can you even believe it? When Alex called to see if I wanted to come … Read more
Plumpy’s upcoming engagement brunch: Cinnamon buns
By Chef Gazpacho Friends, this simple recipe for cinnamon buns couldn’t be quicker or more delicious! I just know Plumpy’s going to love it. What you need: - Store-bought pizza dough - Butter - Brown sugar - Cinnamon - An adult assistant What you do: Have your adult assistant preheat the oven to 350° and grease a baking pan with lots of butter. On a floured surface, roll out pizza dough to a large rectangle, to about ¼” thickness. Leaving a border of about 1/2” all around, spread the dough with a generous layer of softened butter. Sprinkle butter with lots of brown sugar (about ½ cup) and then sprinkle a good helping of cinnamon on top of that. Starting at the long side of your rectangle, roll up your dough into a long log and spread the outside of the log with butter. Cut into 2” rolls and place, flat side down, in the pan. Spread the top with more butter and sprinkle with more brown sugar. Bake for about 30 minutes. These gooey, delicious rolls are especially good served hot from the oven.

Meriwether’s Sitting Room Redesign
Hailey: Elwin and I had what might be our toughest job ever. Elwin: You can say that again, Hailey. H: Elwin and I had what might be our toughest job ever. E: Sigh. Let’s just show them the picture of Meriwether’s sitting room: H: OK, so do you want to start, or should I? E: Go ahead, Hailey. I…don’t know what to say. H: Alright, well Meriwether invited us over to see her sitting room. Actually, Fluffington called us up and said, “I’ve told my great-aunt to call you and ask for your help, but even if she doesn’t, please go over anyway. Her sitting room is a disaster!” E: You know what they always say, Hailey. No amount of KinzCash can buy good taste. H: How true! The interesting part is that some of these items are absolutely stunning on their own, but when they’re thrown together in one big room, they…well…they don’t look their best. E: Well put. H: Thank you. E: Anyway, here’s the end result: H: It’s like a breath of fresh air! E: Meriwether is examining the wallpaper, to make … Read more
