Craft: Pretty Bug Collage
It’s not exactly warm outside, but you can bring a hint of spring to your room with a pretty bug collage!  What you need: Large paper, watercolor paint, paintbrush, scissors, craft glue, Bristol board or foam core, green paper What you do: Paint your large paper in all sorts of different colors. You don’t need to do one specific design, you can just be random. Let your paint dry. When the paint is dry, cut out all sorts of different bug shapes. Cut out leaf-shapes from your green paper. Glue it to your Bristol board or foam core. Glue your insects to the leaves. When the glue is dry, hang up your bug picture for all to see!
Persephone’s Winter Fashion Show – Day 1
Persephone’s Winter Fashion Show Day 1 Hey, readers! I am just planning my winter fashion show, but I have been so swamped that I could really use a little help and I was hoping you guys might step up to the plate. I’ve thrown together some fab winter ensembles, but I can’t decide which ones to feature in my show. Can I run a few by you and you pick which one of the three you prefer? Awesome! I thought we would start with some exterior fashions. Outdoor Fashions – Option #1 So this model is sporting the fun and multi-hued Checkered Fleece Jacket. I picked up the pink check in the coat with a cheerful Pink Beanie Cap. I thought the snowy white Hit the Slopes Boots were a bright option for footwear, and we kept up the wintery theme with some Snowy Face Stickers. And the Vogue Vampire Pants? An unexpected choice, no? Outdoor Fashions – Option #2 Our model is a study in scarlet. I just loved the vibrant red of the Born to Board Top and Pants. And I knew the Lumberjack Hat would make an eclectic … Read more
Ms. Cowoline’s Winter Fun Day
Ms. Cowoline here with a very exciting announcement for my dear students! On January 11, we are going to take a break from learning and spend a day enjoying the winter weather with physical fitness! Yes, we’re having a snow fun day. So if you’re interested in sports – or just running around in the snow – you’re going to have a stellar time! I am interested to hear what kind of sports and activities you’d all like to do, so I’m going to put a suggestion box outside of my office. I can’t wait to read the things you come up with!
One Rough Resolution
Sparky Fact here with a major complaint: school. Why am I back? Because I have to be, of course. I had such a good time on holiday, enjoying my days off. I played and slept and hung out with my friends. And then, today, I came back to school. And the craziness has already started! Our teacher, Miss Daisy, told us about three projects we have to do this month. THREE! That’s too many. One is too many. Ugh. I know some ‘Kinz really like school, and some are really good at school…but I don’t. And I’m not. I know my resolution was to do better, but I’m already counting down the days until summer.
One Lovely Living Room
Elwin: Hey everyone! It’s your favorite decorating team here – Elwin and Hailey! We’re super-excited to tell you about the business our company has been getting ever since we redecorated Fluffington’s house for the holidays! Ms. Birdy was the first to call us, and she invited us over to check out the problem.  The problem, by the way, wasn’t at her house. It was at Dr. Quack’s. When Hailey and I got there, we thought maybe the foyer needed redoing. Ms. Birdy, however, said that Dr. Quack just had it re-painted. She took us into his living room and we immediately noticed it was…what’s a polite way to say it, Hailey? Hailey: Uh. Dated. Let’s say dated. As in, out-of-date. As in, from the last century. Or possibly the one before that. Well, let’s just let the picture do the talking, shall we?          Elwin: There are so many things going wrong here, I don’t know where to start. Hailey: The wallpaper. It’s the worst. Elwin: No, I think it’s the arrangement of furniture. The mismatched, random arrangement. Have you ever seen anything like that before, Hailey? I mean, wow. It’s just…it’s … Read more
Millie Pig: Hurricane on Wheels
Sometimes I think Salley, Roberta, Cowabelle, Sparky and Alex are the luckiest kids around. Why? Because they don’t have siblings! Nibbles is lucky because she has an older sister, and Stoogles likes all of his brothers and sisters, so I guess he’s lucky too. Or maybe I’m just UN-lucky. Because of Millie. The hurricane on wheels. See, Santakinz thought it would be a great idea to get Millie roller skates. I wish I had been awake when the jolly old elf was dropping off gifts, because I would’ve begged him to take the skates back to the North Pole with him. Since it’s snowy outside, Millie has been skating around the house. She’s not really supposed to, but mom is just happy that she’s enjoying her present – and she said that as long as she stays in the basement, she shouldn’t be able to do too much damage. Well. Tell that to my ruined art project. I’ve been working on my art project for three weeks. It was a little model of my house and yard. I thought it was really, really cute. I was just about done (I just had to … Read more
Resolutions from the ‘Kinz
It’s January 1 and you know what that means…resolution time! I decided to put on my reporter’s hat and visit my friends to find out what they hope to accomplish this year!    Molly: As much as it pains me to say this, I’m going to try to be nicer to Millie this year. She can be so difficult sometimes, and that drives me CRAZY. But yelling at her doesn’t work, so maybe being nice to her will? I don’t know. I’m willing to try anything at this point.  Roberta:  Well, everyone saw my little fashion catastrophe of 2011, so I’m hoping to put that behind me and sashay my way through 2012 looking like a fashionista. Or at least a little more put together. I’ve got some ideas, and I’ve been talking to PJ. Hopefully this year’s fashions are memorable for a good reason!  Sparky: Man, Uncle Arte and I were talking about resolutions the other day. I wanted mine to be ‘improve my video gaming skills’, but he said those are good enough already. Uncle Arte STRONGLY suggested that I focus my energy on bringing … Read more
New Year’s Resolutions with the ‘Kinz!
I asked my friends to share their resolutions. This is what they said:  Salley: I resolve to be the best Student Council president ever. I think Purr-Cilla got a bit too big for her britches at the end of this year, so I’m going to have to show her who’s boss in 2012.  Sparky: I resolve to study for most if not ALL of my tests. Because I actually really liked getting that A+.  Cowabelle: I resolve to continue working at the soup kitchen – and maybe even work at the food bank. Also, I resolve to visit Dacey and see if I can be an extra in her upcoming movie.  Roberta: I resolve to be more patient with my dad’s traveling, and to try to continue bettering myself, fashion-wise. Hey, you never know. Maybe one day I’ll start a trend!  Stoogles: I resolve to take more time on my projects next year. Let’s face it: some of my stuff was downright last-minute this year.  Molly: I resolve to be more patient with Millie. And maybe even play with her now and then, even if her … Read more
Snowstorm headed for Kinzville!
It’s Alex here! I just heard on the news that a HUGE snowstorm is headed straight for Kinzville! They said that we were going to be snowed in tomorrow! I thought that would be awful! The Kinz were all going to get together at Cowabelle’s house for a New Year’s Eve party, and we were all going to share our resolutions. But with the storm, it was starting to look like we wouldn’t be going anywhere. But then Sparky called me with some really great news – his Uncle Arte has a plow on the front of his truck and Arte said that he would take the plow to everyone’s house and pick each of us up and make sure we could all get together at Cowabelle’s! How cool is that? Looks like New Year’s is saved!!!
The ‘Kinz Meet Up
Hey, it’s Molly! I just got back from a visit with the ‘Kinz and it was so good to see everyone. We met up at Nibbles’ place and she made hot cocoa with marshmallows in it, and I brought along some of the cookies I made with my Grandma. It sounds like we all had a pretty awesome Christmas. I had so much fun playing with my new baby cousin, Holly. Millie is finally starting to warm up to her. Holly got a stuffie from Santakinz and Millie put on a stuffie show that made Holly giggle. Salley Cat said that she really enjoyed spending the holidays with her dad and even Stoogles was really nice about it. He was happy for her. Her dad even took her out for dinner on Christmas day. Can you imagine? Going out for Christmas dinner? Nibbles and Plumpy just got home from visiting their cousin, Ruby and Nibbles was so excited because Santakinz brought her the dollhouse she asked for. Ruby showed them all around her town and Nibbles said it’s really pretty there. It was down south so it wasn’t so cold and they … Read more
Salley Cat is Back!
What an amazing Christmas this has been! Not only did I get to see my dad and his family this Christmas, but I also got to have a little mini-Christmas with my mom, grandma and aunt when I got home! After we opened gifts and drank some totally delicious eggnog, I asked mom if I could call Stoogles. She said that he should come over. When he arrived, my mom pulled out two gingerbread houses and SO much candy! It was amazing! We spent the entire afternoon decorating the houses (and eating a TON of candy). I LOVE Christmas, and I hope yours was as much fun as mine!
Purr-Cilla’s New Year
Yeah, it’s me, Purr-cilla. Here’s the thing. In 2011, not everything went exactly to plan. I mean, I know I ended up on School Council but that’s only because Miss Annoying, I mean Salley, realized she couldn’t do it without me. But I think that 2012 is a time for change. So like, you know that I totally carry the whole school council, right? It seems like every good idea we have is mine. Well, I’m thinking maybe I need to play a greater role in council this year. Let’s see if I can work that out, shall we? Also, supporting player in the play? That is not going to fly in 2012. I’ve decided that whatever I take on this year I will be the star or nothing. And I don’t need to be stuck in the middle of Salley and Stoogle’s drama. Puleeze. If I want theatrics like that I’ll watch a cheap soap opera, thank you very much. Yes, I am sick and tired of being kicked around by these annoying ‘Kinz. Next year things are going to change. You just wait and see.
