Fluffington’s Christmas Party
I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. My party was a huge success. I have to hand it to Hailey, Elwin and my old friend, Chef Gazpacho. They really seemed to know what Kinzville wants. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely! Even my Great Aunt Meriwether seemed to have a good time. At first I noticed that she kept trying to direct everyone’s attention to her collection of tea cups (she brought some with her, just for the occasion), but she soon cut loose and I swear at one point I think I saw her out the window making a snowman with Sparky and Molly in the yard. When she came inside she had snow in her hair – almost as if she had been hit by a snowball! But I know that can’t possibly have been the case. I’m sure of it because when I mentioned it, she and Sparky and Molly all burst out laughing. Obviously they found the idea as ridiculous as I did. Chef Gazpacho’s recipes were a huge hit. The children couldn’t seem to get enough of the chocolate Fluffles. I’m sure that it was the name that made them so appealing. And … Read more

Letters to Santakinz
Dear Santakinz, I sure hope I made the Nice List this year. I know that sometimes I kind of lost it with my cousins and I’m sorry about that. And I hope they’re not on the naughty list because I’m sure that deep down they’re not really bad. I hope. Anyway, this year I would really like it if you could bring Millie a new tea set. She just loves making cookies and throwing tea parties. And could you bring my little cousin Holly a stuffie? She really seemed to like Millie’s. As for me, I will love anything you give me, but if I had to think of something I wanted, how about a lock for my bedroom door so Robby and Bobby can’t get in there while I’m out? Love, Molly Dear Santakinz, I know I already wrote to you this year but I had to revise my letter. I don’t know what you were planning to bring me this year, and I’m not sure if this is against the rules or anything, but do you think this year you could take whatever gift you were going … Read more
Baking with Grandma
This week has turned out pretty well after all, ever since my aunt showed up with my new little cousin, Holly. I feel kind of bad though because I had promised to make cookies with Millie and I’ve just been really busy. But today our grandma announced that it was baking day and that she and Millie and I would be busy all day, making yummy treats for the family. Grandma pulled this long list of cookies and cupcakes out of the pocket of her apron. She said first things first and so we all piled into the car and headed over to the W Shop to pick up all the supplies we would need for our goodies. I kind of missed being with little Holly, but when we got to the W Shop Millie and I played a great game. She sat in the seat of the shopping cart and said that she was one of Santakinz’s helpers and that I was a reindeer who had to make the cart go. Then we had to travel around the ‘workshop’ (or W Shop,) collecting parcels to deliver on Christmas Eve. It was such … Read more
Recreation Room Redo
Wow! So the last room that we are making over for Fluffington’s Christmas party was a pretty tall order. He has this light and airy rec room with a real summery feel. We want to inject some Christmas spirit into it without losing its sense of spaciousness and lightness. We tried to maintain the cool colors that Fluffington had in his original room. So we accented it with lots of white and blues. We also added some green, Christmassy accessories. The Blue Frost Evergreen seemed like the perfect choice for this cool room. We started out by adding a base of Green and Groovy Tiles on the floor. Then we brought in the King’s Feast Dining Table. We felt the weight of it was a bit more in the spirit of the season than the glass topped table that was already there. We surrounded it with Elegant White Dining Chairs to maintain that light, airy feel and replace the counters with ones from the Bloomin’ Room theme. We also added a Hot Chocolate Machine and Chocolate Fountain to the eating area. We used Fluffington’s White Silk Sofas and … Read more
Roberta is DONE!
Hey everyone! Roberta Rabbit here with some super-amazing news! My crafts are done. Totally, 100%, no kidding – DONE! And I couldn’t be happier. I’m really glad I took the time to make everyone’s gift by hand this year, but it sure was a lot of work. If I was going to do this again (which, knowing me I will), I’d start much sooner. Maybe in July. But for now, I’m going to sit in the living room, turn up the Christmas carols, have a mug of hot chocolate and admire my pretty presents under the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree. Merry Christmas, my friends!
Sparky gets an A+!
I got my test back from Ms. Cowoline the other day and guess what? I got an A+!!!!! That is even better than an A! (But I guess you already knew that.) I am so pumped! This is really awesome because my Uncle Arte said that all he wanted for Christmas was for me to do well on a test and I did it! I can give Uncle Arte the gift he really, really wanted. I am just on my home from the framing shop. I decided that I would have the test framed and then wrap it up and put it under the tree for Uncle Arte. But I’m not going to say a word about it. He’ll be so surprised! I also got something else while I was out: a big box of chocolates for Alex to say thanks for all his help. He really is a great friend. He had a sore paw and everything but he still took the time to study with me. I sure am lucky. I think it’s going to be a great Christmas!
Roberta’s Homemade Holiday: Raccoon Puppet
Here is a simple hand puppet craft that little kids will really appreciate. I’m making mine for my little cousin! What you need: - Brown paper bag - Black construction paper - Brown construction paper - Googly eyes - Black crayon - Glue - Scissors What you do: Flip a paper bag upside down. The flap formed by the bottom of the bag will be your raccoon’s face. Fold over a piece of brown construction paper and cut out two semi-circles, about 2” across. Fold over a piece of black construction paper and cut out two smaller semi-circles, about 1” across. Glue the black semi-circles inside the brown ones and glue them along the top of the flap at the bottom of your paper bag to form your raccoon’s ears. Fold over a piece of black construction paper and cut out a black rectangle, about 2.5” long. With scissors, round off the corners of one side of the rectangles. Glue the two rectangles on either side of the bottom of the bag, below the ears, so that the flat side … Read more
Meriwether’s Update
It’s Meriwether St. Bernard again, readers, and I must say that Fluffington’s behaviour has certainly improved since the last time I chatted with you. Fluffington told me he’s been doing a lot of thinking about how he has been treating others this season and that he wanted to invite me for tea to make up for losing his temper last week. Well, readers, you know how I just LOVE tea. And teacups. Have I ever mentioned my love of teacups? But I digress. Well, I went over to Fluffington’s and I must say, his mansion was absolutely overflowing with holiday spirit! Fluffington seemed shocked how much I liked it. He said he had really thought the decor wasn’t grand enough and he was sure I would look down my nose at it. I told him that if there was ever a time to cut loose and have some fun, the holidays were it! You know, readers, even I’ve been known to let down MY hair at the holidays! Why, you should have seen me cut a rug back in my day. As I told Fluffington, I thought the place looked just lovely … Read more
A ‘Kinz Christmas Party
Nibbles Hippo here, reporting on the ‘Kinz Christmas party! Cowabelle brought a delicious plate of sugar cookies to share. She seems SO much happier these days. She couldn’t stop talking about the soup kitchen. It’s great to see the old Cowabelle back. Roberta’s picture frames were quickly filled with silly pictures we took and printed today. My favorite? Sparky with Christmas ornaments hanging from his ears. Salley brought her famous salsa and a whole lotta chips. Let’s just say I think I’m good to not eat until Christmas. A tired looking Molly arrived with her little sister Millie in tow. Apparently Millie BEGGED to come to the party. Surprisingly, Millie was actually pretty fun to have around. And when we had a popcorn-catching contest (in which players catch popcorn in their mouths), Millie was actually the best at it! Sparky had ornaments hung from his ears. And played video games. A lot. Stoogles also played video games, and then turned up the music and told us all we had to dance. He was the judge. According to him, he’s the best dancer. Alex was happy to be exempt from the dance competition … Read more
Alex’s Secret Santa
OK, everyone. So Christmas is almost here and I decided to get Molly a special gift. It wasn’t easy, because of the whole sprained ankle thing, but I’m almost one hundred percent better, so I convinced my mom to take me to the W Shop. I got Molly a hair clip that she said she wanted. And I wrote her this poem (I can’t believe I’m sharing this): Merry Christmas, dear Molly,I hope your holiday is great,I hope you have eggnog in your cup,And cookies on your plate. These gifts are for you,I hope you like them a lot,I’d sign my name here,But I’d rather not. And then I wrapped the gifts up and attached the note and went to Molly’s house. I left the gifts on her front porch. I don’t think anyone saw me drop them off (I hope not). Now I just have to wait and see what she thinks. Maybe one day I’ll tell her that I’m her secret Santa. Maybe not.
Fluffington’s Dining Room Gets Ready for Christmas
By Elwin Onto to the dining room! Fluffington seemed pretty happy with our bathroom makeover so we’re getting down to the final couple of rooms. Fluffington’s dining room is fairly understated. He’s got a lovely marble floor set off by a cool-hued striped wallpaper. He’s also got a nice seating area by the fireplace. We should try to play that up. And of course, being Fluffington’s place, there is a lot of gold and purple. We wanted to tie in our decorations to the color scheme that Fluffington already had and we thought that the High Class Christmas Tree would be perfect with its violet shades. We set it off with the Violet Persian Rug that we had removed from the living room. We used the Jolly Holiday Dining Table to introduce some Christmas colors into the room, but we tied in the cool tones by surrounding the table with the True Blue Dining Chairs. The Elegant Ice Fountain creates a lovely focal point in the corner, and the King’s Feast Dining Table offers an extra serving area, as does the Treats for Santakinz table. Guests can help … Read more
